Join Us: 3rd Adobe Experience Manager Multilingual Content Special Interest Group Meeting

The Multilingual Content Intelligence team at Adobe is excited to host our third Adobe Experience Manager Multilingual Content Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7, at our headquarters in San Jose. Our program this time is on Digital Asset Management (DAM), and we plan to focus on how DAM can be used for multilingual purposes. During the meeting, we’ll also have a Multi Site Manager (MSM) review session to share feature enhancement plans for future releases.

This is a great opportunity to understand basic concepts of DAM and related best practices in a multilingual context. Attendees will also rub elbows with our Adobe experts, share their experiences and challenges, and network with peers from various industry leading companies that are putting Adobe Experience Manager to use.

At Adobe MAX 2013

I had the opportunity to attend Adobe MAX last week in Los Angeles, California. It’s called the Creativity Conference, and in my opinion, the organizers delivered.

A few of us from the Adobe Globalization team established a presence at the Community Pavilion as we actively sought to engage with our customers and users from around the world. We were successful in that and I will post more information about that in the coming days.

In the meantime, please watch the following intro from Adobe TV, and keep a watch for me at 43 seconds in (I’m on the left, listening intently).

Mark your calendars: Quarterly Adobe CQ Multilingual Content Intelligence SIG meetup

Attention CQ customers, potential customers, system integrators or Adobe partners:

The Adobe CQ Multilingual Content Intelligence Special Interest Group (SIG) is growing, and they’d love for you to join them!

The next meeting is Monday, Jan 28, 2013, at the Adobe San Jose Headquarters.

Adobe Globalization at MT Summit XIII

Members of Adobe’s Translation Technology Team are currently getting our visas in order, because we are headed to China later this month! We will be presenting some of our recent work at the Machine Translation Summit, held September 19-23 in Xiamen, China.

MT Summit is the major conference for the MT industry. Held every other year, the conference rotates between the Americas, Europe, and Asia. This year the hosting duties fall to the Asia-Pacific Association for Machine Translation, and the conference is being held on the scenic campus of the Xiamen National Accounting Institute

Adobe is well represented on the conference’s schedule. On Wednesday, I will be presenting on our strategy for increasing the use of MT within Adobe, and on Thursday, my colleague Jeff Rueppel will present a demo of some tools we have been developing to simplify the use of the Moses open-source MT package.

Furthermore, this summer we have been extremely fortunate to host a summer intern, Yifan He from the Centre for Next-Generation Localisation (CNGL) in Dublin. Yifan appears multiple times on the MT Summit schedule — co-teaching a tutorial and presenting a paper as well as a poster. We attribute his spectacular showing to a combination of his natural brilliance and Adobe’s nurturing atmosphere. Great job, Yifan!

If you plan to be at the conference, please come find us! We are always eager to hear about other people’s experiences with MT, especially in the corporate setting. See you in Xiamen!
