More Audition Podcasting

I came across another news article talking about podcasting and Audition. While it talks about many different solutions, including free software for people who want to get started on a shoestring budget, it points out that Audition is "more or less the industry standard" for podcasting. We're finding that's particularly true once folks are looking to make podcasts with quality equal to major radio broadcasts rather than sounding like a hobbyist production.

What are some of the things you like about Audition when you're doing podcasts (or traditional broadcast)? We're looking to put together a short document on why Audition is good for this work and I'd love some input from you all.

Also, I've mentioned it before but if you are already into podcasting you might want to take a look at Building the Pod, which includes lots of podcast-specific tips on how to use Audition.

Hi Hart,

Congratulations for all the good job you've done so far in improving Adobe Audition. I'm a radio producer working for the BBC World Service - French Section - in London, UK.
I've been using Cool Edit Pro and then Adobe Audition for eight years and VERSION 2.0 is undoubtedly the best ever. I LOVE IT.
But I think Adobe should think about a version of Audition specially designed for Radio production and the industry of broadcasting. This software has everything one needs to produce high-quality audio programmes and my conviction is that the product would definitely benefit from having a version dedicated to broadcasting - e.g. an onair playlist manager, etc. I believe many radio stations in the world would switch to it and adopt it. You could do so by asking for professionals' views about such an initiative and then asking them to contribute. I would be more than happy to help.
Many thanks.

Amzath Fassassi, Senior Producer, BBC World Service, French Department.

Hi Hart, welcome. I've been using Audition forever (pre-Adobe, like a lot of folks) and it's just THE best. I just added a Mackie Universal Controller and boy-oh-boy am I a happy camper.

Our company, At Large Media, does a number of podcasts - we deliver broadcast quality audio to our clients as well as MP3/AAC versions and there's just no other option out there for professional workflow.

I wholeheartedly agree. Not only do I use Audition 2.0 for my day job as Production Supervisor for a 5 station cluster, I also use it to podcast sermons (http://www.podcastalley.com/search.php?searchterm=bikers+church) for Capital City Bikers Church.
