Working with Noise Reduction

Graeme Hague over at Digital Producer has posted a 1-page summary on using the Noise Reduction filter in Audition 2. Graeme talks both about how to record less noise to begin with as well as how to tackle hiss and hum after it makes its way into your recording.

in that 1-page summary graeme made a point that higher is not always better when reducing noise from under a recording... what would you say is a good number to reduce by for a vocal with lets say central air noise.. or something from that spectrum in the background?
