Hunting Bambi

Hunting Bambi: Speaking of fostering confusion on the net (see "Slashdot on SVG", below), I've been amazed to see this story get such an increase in coverage on the net (nb: links to Google News are time-sensitive). There is little evidence that the story is true, and much to suggest that it is not true, yet the mainstream media feeds on itself... the story gets coverage because other news sources already covered it. On the other hand, this Snopes article disturbs me a bit too because the Mikkelsons state unequivocally that it is a hoax, yet do not prove this unequivocally... I trust them more than I trust the New York Times or the BBC, but there's still a disconnect between their conclusion and their evidence. (Note to self: check current sunspot activity.)
