Wikipedia growth
Wikipedia growth: According to this Slashdot discussion, the number of articles at WikiPedia has doubled over the last year... took two years to reach its first 100K, half that to reach the second. Alex shows that their daily traffic is now comparable to Slashdot. I liked Wikipedia when I first saw it, and have personally used it over the last few years, but I haven't checked to see whether the overall nature of the articles has changed with such a massive increase in popularity. See also Modelling Wikipedia's growth for trends.
