Adobe science
Adobe science: I've written before about how Adobe invests in basic science in a way we could never accomplish back at Macromedia... next week there's a lecture here by Przemyslaw Prusinkiewicz, author of The Algorithmic Beauty of Plants, a study of organic emulation via Lindenmayer systems. I held off blogging this a few days, because I know how many people reading these blogs are fascinated by L-systems and didn't want to tease (there are lots of good Flash studies available via Google), but I gave in 'cause I think it's just too cool that researchers like this regularly meet with Adobe scientists, and it gives a real indication of where the new company can go. I'll be there, with Koch-snowflake-adorned bells on.... ;-)
