New blog on using Flash, and AIR as it pertains to Flash CS3

A quick public service announcement that I have started up a new blog at a new domain (Flashthusiast.com). I'll be blogging about Flash authoring tool there (now that I re-joined the Flash team... by the way), instead of here.

Also, I just blogged about the AIR update as it pertains to Flash CS3 (mostly - where can you get that update??)

Site of the Week: Waterlollies on Biteycastle!

Adam Phillips of Biteycastle.com has finished creating yet another amazing animation. His description of it is as follows:

Bitey's short-sighted arrogance lands him in a world of hurt and the fastest creature in the world is brought to a slow, painful crawl.

It's really an inspiring piece of animation - the effects, "camera" work, and characters are simply amazing. I heartily recommend watching it.

Site of the week: Sony Bravia (eu)

I haven't done this in a very long time, but thought I'd share this site. It takes a very long time to load (at least it did on wireless), but at least you get some factual tidbits while you wait. It's worth it - they have their play-doh bunny ad in there, which is definitely worth the wait to see (at least I think so). Especially if you like rabbits.

Across from Near AIR park at MAX -- short interview = free book

I'm across from AIR park at MAX again, and if you have time to answer some questions about your community involvement and learning (maybe 10 minutes), I'll reward you with a choice of a free book (we'll mail them out right after MAX). You can choose from a wide range of books, so it might be worth your time.

I'm in the "Talk to Me" t-shirt (light blue), and have a MacBook and some pink flyers in front of me. I'm on one of the benches against the wall across from AIR park, go to the top of the escalators to Level 3 and look to your left.

Do you like getting free books? You’re at MAX 2007? Find me Wed morning.

I’m giving away free books to people who bear talking to me for a short period of time (maybe 10 -15 minutes). Good books too - new stuff from Peachpit and O’Reilly. I’ll be around the conference tomorrow, but I’ll be attending a number of sessions so I might be harder to find. However, I will spend a good deal of time Wednesday morning looking for people who will talk to me, so I can give them a free book for their efforts. I will be in or near AIR park, and I will probably have a pink flyer and possibly a MacBook around me somewhere. I will also be wearing the t-shirt as detailed here:

http://www.webvideoblogger.com/2007/09/28/find-me-at-max-2007-answer-some-questions-well-send-you-a-free-book/
Find me, talk a bit about the community and your experiences, and get yourself a free book.

Find me at MAX 2007, answer some questions, we'll send you a free book

That's right - you'll have to talk to me, but the payoff is a book on a product (you'll get to choose from a selection of stuff). There are books on everything from Acrobat to After Effects to Photoshop to Soundbooth. So it's not all that bad!

Our team is looking for your input on how you use community-based sites out there (software related, or not). What do you like about the sites? What kind of features do you use on a community-based site, or not use? How do you like to learn about products, and interact with other parts of the Adobe community? That kind of stuff, and more.

If you talk to us, even for only a little while, we'll send you a book.

I'll be easy to find in a moderately-tacky and bright t-shirt, which I will picture below. My co-worker Diana will be wearing shirts of the same design, and doing the same thing as I'll be doing (but much better, as she's a talented researcher and I'm not).

If you want, ping me here using your email (won't appear on the blog, but I'll see it) and I'll shoot you an response and we can figure out a good time to meet. I'll also blog my whereabouts once I get situated at MAX and figure out my schedule a bit more.

Diana and I will be wearing one of these t-shirts (or one in green):

So... find me (below) in Chicago!
