In this video tutorial,  you will learn how to create, render and publish a slideshow with music by sequencing your images to tell the perfect story.

    hi, Julieanne

i like your tutorials, easy, clear and straight to the point. i want to ask about the photo transitions in the lightroom 4 slideshow module, possible to have zoom effect or pics come from left to right? i know lightroom is not a slideshow programme but is it possible?

    thank you.

      Hi Anderson,

Currently Lightroom only uses a fade transition, and there aren’t other transitions like you describe. You can adjust the color the fade transitions in and out of.
Alternatively, if you have Photoshop CS6, it has video editing functionality that gives you different transitions like you request.

You can post a Lightroom feature request for this idea here:

I am absolutely gob-smacked that a feature rich product from Adobe has only a single slideshow transition! Take a look at iPhoto (free) on how to do this.

I hope that Adobe wakes up to this omission, soon.

LOL! Gob-smacked. It never ceases to amaze me how people are “shocked” that a feature they want is not included in whatever software package we happen to be talking about. Paul, many users out there could care less that LR has anything but a fade transition. iPhoto has nothing on LR besides the transitions, a poor choice of comparison I’m afraid.

Adobe will “wake up” as you call it when the feature is required by more than a small percentage of users.
