Update! Click here (Zoom, Pan, and Navigate Documents in Photoshop CC) to see all zoom, pan, and navigation tips for Photoshop CC in one post.

When using the Hand tool to pan (move left, right, up or down in an image), Photoshop “eases out” of the pan. For an abrupt stop when panning,  click, drag and hold with the Hand tool. If you prefer, Flick Panning can be toggled off in the General Preferences by unchecking  Enable Flick Panning.

It’s funny because some years ago, I hated the flick panning (I called it “skating on ice”). But one day, after reinstalling photoshop and having flick panning “on” by default, I tried it again, something “clicked” inside me… and now I love it!

I’m just commenting to say that I love your blog, your quick and to the point tips and the clearness of your explanations. Thanks.
