What can we do, who can we cry to, or bribe, to get the “hot-keys” in Lightroom and Photoshop to be the same? Why can’t the brush adjustment sizes be the same keys in both programs? Why is Crop “C” in one and “R” in the other?

I’d rather commit my brain’s memory cells to more important matters.

Why doesn’t Adobe care about its brand?

But thanks for the tips, anyway . . .

In general, we try to have consistency, but at the end of the day the products do varied things, and there are not enough keys to accommodate all the various commands. You can create custom keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop under Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts.

        Jeffrey, Thanks for the reply.

I started with Photoshop 2. I memorized all those keyboard commands. Then I couldn’t figure out why Lightoom came out with different keyboard commands for the same functions. The crop function is the most obvious. The brush size is another obvious one. I have to think about which program I’m in before I use the keyboard command.

“. . .there are not enough keys to accommodate all the various commands. ”

Sorry, that’s not a valid excuse. There were enough keys, the Lightroom crew just chose not to use the same keys as Photoshop for the same functions. I just think that this was some silly scheme to have the child (Lightroom) be deliberately different from the parent (Photoshop).

I have no more hair to pull out . . .
