With the addition of linked Smart Objects, Creative Cloud Libraries are now more powerful than ever. In this video, Julieanne will demonstrate the Libraries panel’s new features and enhancements including sharing assets using linked Smart Objects as well as create a Library from a document in a single click in the November release of Photoshop CC 2015.
Note: As I mention in the video, Option (Mac) -dragging | Alt (Win) -dragging a graphic from the Libraries panel will place it into the document without linking to the the Creative Cloud Library (allowing you to work the same way as in previous versions).

Photoshop CC 2014 makes it really easy to update a Linked Smart Object when changes are made to the external, linked file. In the illustration below, I have placed a graphic that was created in Adobe Illustrator into my Photoshop document. The image is still being refined by another artist on my team.
The Pattern graphic was added into this document using the File > Place Linked command in Photoshop.
After the artist updated the graphic (the linked document) in Illustrator, I opened the “master” document. Photoshop automatically displays a warning icon in both the Layers and Properties panel. Photoshop doesn’t automatically update the master document with the updated linked file because, in some instances, you might not want that updated version – perhaps you disagree with the artist’s updates. : )
To update the link, click on the Icon in the Properties panel and choose Update Modified Content.
Voilà! The master document is updated.

Adobe Photoshop CC 14.2 is now available! If you don’t see an update available for Photoshop in the Creative Cloud desktop application, it might be because of your time zone – the Creative Cloud desktop application only checks once a day. To force the CC desktop application to check for updates, quit the CC desktop app (click on the gear icon in the upper right and choose Quit). Then, launch the Creative Cloud desktop application again – it will check for updates upon launch.
These three videos will take you through my favorite new features:
