I’m very excited to be heading towards the Philippines to participate in PhotoWorld Asia 2011 and am looking forward to spending time with both serious professionals and passionate amateur photographers who want to improve their Photoshop and Lightroom skills. We’re going to have an excellent time exploring the software, learning new tips and techniques and creating beautiful images. I’m crossing my fingers for a window seat on the flight over. See you soon!
I hope you will join me next week at Imaging USA in San Antonio Texas! I have two presentations: Lightroom 3 – Secrets of the Develop Module and Photoshop CS5 – Refining Your Personal Style. Details below. Giddy-up.
Monday January 17th, 2011 9:00 – 10:30 am
LR3 Secrets of the Develop Module - Julieanne Kost will unveil the secrets to creating the highest quality images possible by harnessing the power within the Develop module in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3. You’ll master the tools needed to enhance, refine and add creative effects to your images (using both global and local nondestructive image adjustments), add stylistic effects, convert to black and white, and enhance and/or subdue local color and tone for mood. Then, discover how to expedite the finishing process with custom presets to quickly apply these effects to multiple photographs, preparing your images for final delivery directly from within Lightroom or through the seamless integration with Adobe Photoshop 5.
Tuesday January 18th, 2011 7:30 – 9:00 am
Photoshop CS5 Refining Your Personal Style - There are many ways to add your own personal style and enhance your photography after the shoot. For instance, join Julieanne Kost, Digital Imaging Evangelist for Adobe Systems, and discover some subtle techniques in Adobe Photoshop CS5 that will help make your images express your own personal vision. You’ll discover creative methods for converting images to black and white, colorizing and adding edges, overlays, textures and special effects that show your personal touch. In addition, you’ll learn how to sequence multiple images and composite photographs together to create a single photograph, wherein the sum is greater than the individual parts.
While in Copenhagen, I was interviewed by Henrik Malmgreen from Digitale Medier about my thoughts on Photography, Photoshop and the Creative Process. Watch the interview here…
I’ll be presenting Lightroom and Photoshop at the Corcoran Gallery of Art on Saturday, November 13th as a part of DC Foto Week (admission is $15)
Session 1 is on Lightroom – From 10-11:30 a.m. Julieanne Kost will demonstrate why Lightroom 3 is the photographer’s essential toolbox, providing one easy application for managing, adjusting, and presenting large volumes of digital photographs. You will discover how to automate your workflow and organize your images, make global and selective corrections, enhancements, seamlessly integrate Photoshop and prepare your final images for output.
Session 2 is on Photoshop – From 12-1:30 p.m. see how Photoshop CS5 gives photographers a set of breakthrough tools to help you refine your images and get superior results faster than ever before. Julieanne Kost will showcase how Photoshop CS5 redefines the state of the art with a wide range of workflow, creativity and performance enhancements. From the novice to the seasoned expert, everyone has something to learn from this session.
Hope to see you there!
Fortunately for me, the last day of the recent CS5 tour in the Nordics wrapped up in the absolutely magnificent city of Copenhagen. I bundled up in a coat and scarf and headed out to explore the city as many of the locals do – on a bicycle! Here are a few images from the journey, including the colorfully painted buildings along Nyhavn and the Halloween decorations in Tivoli gardens.
At the recent PSA conference, I showed some “Lightroom 3 Workflow” slides and mentioned that anyone who wanted to use the slides for education should contact me. Since the response has been overwhelming, I have linked to them below. Of course, anyone is welcome to use the slides, although they might not be as clear to those that did not attend the presentation…
Today we begin the 4-day CS5 tour in Finland! I’m looking forward to speaking about Photoshop and Lightroom this morning and then again in Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen! Learn more here, I’m sure that I will!
