From Atop the KL Tower...

Hello everyone. Well, once again I'm writing you after another rocking day of the CS3 Masters Tour, this time from the KL Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With over 425+ in attendance, the setting for this event (this incredible room at the top of the tower) really added a little something extra to the proceedings. Not to mention, the room was in the round, which made for a rather interesting pano (my usual stitching of the crowd image from PSCS3!).

We had yet another great crowd who were enthused, energetic, ready to make some noise, and once again, managed to stay *late* (we've been running a bit over-time in the last few cities) keeping the seats filled. I can't tell you how good that feels (as a presenter), seeing as we're effectively keeping you there, sitting, for over 7+ hours (given a few coffee breaks, etc). It's astounding, and I'm so very honoured and grateful that everyone chose to spend their day with us (and hey--no CPU glitches today).

Another cool twist that today was the on-stage premiere (with the three of us) of our newest member of the team, Paul Burnett. He presented some of the Flash piece during the workflow session, as well as a whole additional bit on Flash CS3 during the Web Breakout in the afternoon. I, once again, did the full-on blu-ray workflow, some Sony XDCAM EX showcasing in Premiere, along with the 'making of a movie trailer' in After Effects, complete with cool, creepy, blurry animated text, smokey/foggy background, creepy/mysterious music, and my best impersonation of the classic 'Movie Voice Guy'. Thanks for all of the raucous applause and appreciation, everyone. I really needed some throat coat tea after that!

So, following the event, we had a rather easy going night, but followed it today with press interviews and more photo ops. Lots of follow-up to do, and lots of tweets to keep people up-to-date, up-to-the-moment. And hey---thanks to all my new 'Twitter' followers. It's great to meet you! ;)

And with that, I'm off to start working on some new Adobe TV material. Which reminds me...there's a new episode posted of Short & Suite! Yes, it's part one of the making of Johnny Encore's "I'm Your Puppet, I'm Your Tool". I'll do an official post about the show tomorrow...but in the meantime, check it out @ Adobe.tv or within Adobe Media Player.

Thank you, Kuala Lumpur, from the bottom of our hearts. It was truly a pleasure, and you guys really kept *us* inspired. Sending a little peace & love from the 28th floor ;)

Hi Ikhwan! Thanks for the great write-up (and some nice pics as well! I especially like the first shot, while we three were setting up...very casual and cool). In any event, I will send you the 'stitched' panorama (ie, AutoBlend/AutoAlign) shortly. It's pretty good, but because I was at a rather weird angle, there were 'some' little artifacts...but it's otherwise perfect. Take care, and keep me posted. --JL

hey Jason! I had a great time during the presentations that you guys gave. It was so inspiring. I like your part as well..because I think that I would be using a lot of Premier and after effects later on for my Final Year project. You really gave me an inspiration..and I hope you guys will come down here again!! lots of love from KL~ ^_^
