Photoshop Elements 8 announced for Mac & Windows

I'm a few days late in sharing the news, but I'm delighted to see that Photoshop Elements 8.0 for Mac & Windows has been announced. I'm a little pressed for time at the moment, so I can't elaborate on the features, so please check out the feature list & videos posted by Adobe evangelist Terry White. Congrats to the team on a great release!

I like the basic interface of the Elements organizer (except for the CS4 window frame), but is it ever going to get non-destructive editing capabilities? I'd like to be able to do basic fixes, such as exposure and white balance adjustments, without the organizer creating a separate file.

I would also like to see an open catalog file format so all my data isn't tied to one program.
