A further update, released today, might iron out the remaining wrinkles (though they haven't changed the release notes).

I've recently had to blow up some images and used LR 3 b2 to help with the sharpening and noise reduction. It works quite well for one who doesn't have GF.

It doesn't crash Photoshop for me, but I still get an occasional (relatively graceful) -18004 error, which is to do with bad memory handling.
The release notes to version 6.0.5 are refreshingly frank:
"-18004 errors most likely fixed (potentially run out of memory if used enough times in a row)"
So I still have Gf 5.0.4 running in 32-bit Photoshop. Slower, but never an error.

I'm glad that Douglas is able to use GF in CS5, but it (GF 6.0.5) crashes CS5 on my machine, yet works perfectly in CS4. Is anyone else having this problem? ~thx
