I saw a note somewhere on Monday and did order it from amazon again forgetting about the option of OS versions. My receipt said Windows. I chatted with Adobe who said to return it. Amazon chat person said that I was going to receive MAC OS X. The lead time before shipping is 2 to 4 weeks.

Yeah, same as a couple of months ago Adobe sent me a promo mail directly with a huge discount offer on LR3. But when I logged on, I was told my account only allowed me to purchase from the european web store, not the american one, where there was obviously no discount.
You’d think we’d be used to our money not being as good by now, but…

Having similar problems over here in the UK. Although Adobe has global reach, discounts are often not applied worldwide or even known about here in the UK. Just trying to upgrade from Master Suite CS5 to 5.5 using the NAPP – http://www.photoshopuser.com – 15% discount and have been on the telephone for about 30 minutes with Adobe (Holland)…getting there slowly and Adobe in Holland being very helpful but they haven’t heard of NAPP and here I am listening to music on hold. This happens every time I upgrade. Mr Nack, please have a word with you folks in Europe.
