Yeah, and a few more versions later (CS9 or CS11) we have the good old FreeHand function set back :-)

This function was introduced in FH9 (OK, it worked with copy & paste) but did the same thing.

Stumbled on this sneak peek the other day, i thought it was strange how a. there was not more sneak peeks into new illustrator CS6..
and b. why not given the same attention in terms of adobes campaign say as Photoshop on youtube etc. Both are in anniversary years right?

Anyways .. CS6 is looking pretty slick and stable!

Heres hoping for better font display, brush engine, symmetry mode, isometric tool and a few more surprise panels.
And improvements to the perspective grid stuff.. and maybe 3d will get a complete overhaul.

I take it this is still in its relatively early stages or the video doesn't represent the application's current state?

I noticed that there was a drop down menu and it was set to tile type "Brick by Row" with a brick offset of "1/2" but that's not what was being produced by the application. So not quite ready.

Now of course there are several other basic tilings apart from "Brick", and the fact that there's a drop down at all gives me hope that the more interesting 2D tilings made from convex polygons will also be supported.

Brick would be a start, but awfully boring and quite easy to manage without a dedicated tool.

Even just having some of the other regular convex tilings, though, would be a huge thing.

...and then maybe some aperiodic or two shape tilings for CS7 :-)
