If you want to see what you can do with it: we at VIGC today launched the ‘VIGC Output Essentials’ panel for Adobe InDesign. This custom panel combines a large number of essential functions into one panel. It simplifies and streamlines the workflow of a designer (preventing mistakes).

Thanks for getting back to me. I have created a few Photoshop workflow scripts that use EM to handle installation (which has worked well since CS4). Each Photoshop script has a Bridge component that talks to the main Photoshop script. In a nutshell, the user selects files in Bridge, then runs the little Bridge script that uses bridgetalk to send the file list to the Photoshop script and Bob’s your uncle.

I have since learned that I can turn on EM Bridge support (at least on my Mac) by copying the folder

Applications/Adobe Bridge CS5/Configuration

Applications/Adobe Bridge CS6

Then I change the icon in there to the CS6 icon, and do a string replace for CS5 to CS6 in the XML file and presto, EM recognizes Bridge again.

The ease of this fix was the core of my question; since the fix was so simple I figured either there had to more to it or it was a simple oversight. Either way, I’d really like to get it put back in the next update if possible.

Hi Mike,

I am not on the Bridge team and this is not the official word but my understanding is that the move to making Bridge 64Bit for CS6 was huge amount of work and the team decided there was not time to support extensibility.

Did you use extensions for Bridge or develop them yourself? I am curious to know to see if it is something that should be reconsidered.

I don’t know where else to ask this since the Bridge blog hasn’t been updated in three years, so I thought I’d try here.

I’m wondering if there is a specific reason that Bridge support has been dropped from the Extension Manager?

Ditto. Configurator rocks. (I still wish the panel size adjustment drags were from top-left instead of center.) Add my vote for Illustrator support.

I wonder if editing the button scripts will allow me to pass params to the related dialog boxes…

I love Configurator. I’ve put a lot of my workflow in the panel that’s available with my book. Can’t remember the keyboard combo for Stamp Visible – there’s a button on my panel … :)

Is there a particular reason that Illustrator is not supported by the Configurator? [Historically Illustrator hasn't been scriptable enough to support Configurator. That may have changed in CS6 (I'd have to check), but they were so busy with the 64-bit/Cocoa conversion that it wasn't possible to add Configurator support. --J.] Here I miss it the most, I don't have a use for quite a few items which thus far are hardcoded GUI-Members. It would be nice to be able to build a simplified Tool-Shelf with just the required stuff inside.

Rob, I’m really sorry to hear about the issue you are having. I am going to write up a bug and we will investigate. We hope to have a further bug fixing and potentially new feature release, the details are still being worked out and it depends on the feedback we get over the next week, but thanks for alerting us to this issue.

In Configurator 3.0, as in 2.0, if I try to have buttons for copying and pasting, they not only don’t work in Configurator, they disable copying and pasting altogether until I close PS and reopen it. Not a big deal, but exceeding strange.
