Developers: A new Adobe Exchange is coming

The extensibility team writes,

Adobe is creating a brand new Adobe Exchange, which will enable developers, trainers, and community experts to promote, distribute, monetize and track their CS6 solutions. These products will be made visible to potential CS6 customers within the “Adobe Exchange” panel in most CS6 applications.

They’re looking for launch partners, so check out their full post for more details.

The team has also created a new Adobe Exchange Packager that encapsulates content for distribution via this new channel.  You can get it by signing up for the Exchange prerelease program.

It’s worth stating that with the new Packager application we will be opening Exchange up to any Creative Suite user that wants to distribute their content. We will be releasing be doing a public release of Exchange in July but in the mean time, as John says, you can sign up here:

Any idea how this will be different from the Marketplace?

    Hi Mike

Yes, but the easiest thing is to sign up for the prerelease where it will become immediately apparent what the many differences are. There is also a Connect recording and more to come that show the new capabilities in action in the prerelease forums. You can sign up here:
