Volvos + Van Damme = Brilliance?

Believe it.

And what’s with the Enya? Insane & wonderful. (Brings back fond memories of an ancient VW commercial.)

    Something fishy with that video.
    A tad bit too smooth.
    I call fake.

This was the first time I’ve seen the advert, despite it apparently going ‘viral’. 10 minutes with Google suggests it was real, and needed only one take

So OK, there were safety lines, but how on earth could those trucks and trailers reverse so perfectly?

  • Speed — 4:26 AM on November 16, 2013

When moving in reverse, if the trucks were a little too far apart and the driver(s) wanted to correct, the tractors would have to move slightly further apart first.

Also, Van Damme has very little control over his fore and aft movement so any change in the trucks’ speed could tip him over frontwards or backwards. Any chance there was a steel cable up his leg?

i think the reverse direction of the trucks is actually a post production decision. fake or not it’s still awesome and something only van damme would even think of.

[That guy’s always been ripped; glad he’s not now ripped *apart*. –J.]
