MAX NA Experience launched, cool Pixel Bender sessions!

The MAX Experience website has launched, you can now get the list of sessions and schedule.

I was really excited to see a couple of Pixel Bender sessions being hosted by folks in the community...

Here Be Pixels

ActionScript developers have been able to manipulate pixels since Flash Player 8, but many have yet to fully leverage all of this powerful functionality. Mario Klingemann will take you into the uncharted waters of the unfashionable end of the BitmapData class and reveal the secret beauty of some methods of working with pixels that may have gone overlooked. From there he'll move on to Pixel Bender and Flash Player 10 (both in preview release on Adobe Labs), which promise a new era of creative expression and freedom for all bitmap devotees.

    Speakers: Mario Klingemann
    Products: Flash Player, Flash, ActionScript
    When: Wednesday, November 19, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Pixel Bender Unleashed

Venture into the world of Pixel Bender, Adobe's powerful new pixel shader language. We'll introduce the language and its core concepts, as well as the toolkit used for development (available in preview release on Adobe Labs). We will then present demonstrations of practical implementations in Flash Player in the form of filters, fills, and blend modes. We'll close with the use of Pixel Bender kernels as generic number crunchers.

    Speakers: Ryan Taylor
Products: Flash Player, Flash, AIR, ActionScript
    When: Monday, November 17, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Also, I'll be hosting some a Pixel Bender lab every day with some folks from the AIF team. Unfortunately, the current schedule has us clashing with Ryan on Monday. Hopefully that will change between now and November.

Creating Effects with Pixel Bender

Learn how to produce stunning interactive filters for your projects created in Flash from members of the team that invented the language that makes it all possible. This hands-on lab will cover the basics of creating Pixel Bender filters with the Pixel Bender Toolkit (available in preview release on Adobe Labs) and integrating those filters into your projects in Flash.

    Speakers: Kevin Goldsmith (me!)
Products: Flash Player, Flash, AIR, AfterEffects, ActionScript
    When: Monday, November 17, 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
    Tuesday, November 18, 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
    Wednesday, November 19, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Also, everybody's favorite suite developer guru, MNR, will be showing some Pixel Bender stuff:

New Tools for Developing and Automating Across Creative Suite

Learn how to use the latest version of Flex and other new tools to automate and extend Creative Suite. Discover how the skills you learn for one application will work across others. We’ll discuss IDML, Pixel Bender, SwitchBoard, Patchpanel, CSXS (briefly) and other developing technologies. You’ll be a superhero to everyone in the design department, creating tools that make their jobs easy. (Please bring your own cape.)

    Speakers: Mark Niemann-Ross
    Products: Creative Suite
    When: Wednesday, November 19, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
