Adobe Flash Media, Flash Player, HTTP Dynamic Streaming, Nexus One and over 250 new features in CS5 at NAB this week

Wow I can’t believe the NAB conference is this week. I’m posting this blog from the floor of the convention center in Las Vegas – where we’re putting the final touches on our demos and our Adobe Booth theatre presentations.

This year, the Adobe booth (South Hall) is definitely the place to be. Not just to learn about all the amazing new CS5 products coming your way (with over 250 new features) – but for Flash Media this is also a really big show, and an opportunity to give some of the first sneak peaks at new projects for media delivery to Flash on the desktop and on devices.

For those of you who haven’t been to NAB convention before, the show is a conference of Broadcasters from around the globe – and is often the spot to learn about new broadcast and media delivery and consumption technologies.

This year, we have a lot to show you running on the upcoming release of Flash Player 10.1. In our booth look for the “Flash Media” pods (there are 2 of them this year). The demo pods will give you deep insight into technologies we’re bringing to market this year including

Adobe Flash Player 10.1 features

  • New RTMP streaming Enhancements – including trick modes (using Flash Media Server 3.5.3)
  • New HTTP Dynamic Streaming technology
  • New P2P technology (RTMFP)
  • Interactive Video experiences running on Google Nexus One mobile device

In addition to the demo pods, you will also have lots of opportunities to see full demos in our 150-person presentation theater (which is usually overflowing ). There are over 20 presentations every day in the theatre, that repeat from Monday – Thursday.

If you’re looking for the future of Flash Media, you don’t want to miss these presentations

9:30 – Monetizing Premium Video Content with Adobe Flash Access (Mon + Wed only) (Florian Pestoni)

9:30 – Open Source Media Framework (Tues + Thurs only) (Nick Hippe)

11:00 – Flexible Media Delivery using HTTP Dynamic Streaming (Kevin Towes)
