Happy New Year, Flash mobile developers! The Flash Lite 2 update for Flash Professional 8 is now available as a preview release on the Adobe Labs (formerly Macromedia Labs) website. Although it's being made available as a Windows-only download during this preview release, the final release will be cross-platform- and the product team would love to get your feedback on the preview between now and it's final release.
This update requires Flash Professional 8 to install, and will add several Flash Lite 2-specific features to the authoring tool, allowing you to build applications and movies for the new Flash Lite 2 player (released somewhat quietly in December on Macromedia.com). Release notes for this updater are posted in the Labs wiki here, and you can of course find more details - along with the download itself - at the Labs website.
Enjoy!

While this is great news, I am EXTEMELY disapointed that the Mac version is not being released at this time! Great work though on Flash Lite 2.0, I am looking forward to what the PC users of the bunch begin to create :)
Ooo and Happy New Years as well!
Totally understood, Michael- although the Mac version wasn't ready for the 'preview', rest assured the final release will be x-platform (I use Macs exclusively these days, so am playing the waiting game myself).
Happy New Year!
