The Flex Builder Linux alpha release brings Flex development to desktop Linux. This is the first Linux release for Flex Builder and includes many of the powerful new Flex Builder 3 features.

The latest version of the Spry framework for Ajax is now available from Adobe Labs. In addition to many new features and enhancements, this new release includes an update to the Spry library included within Dreamweaver CS3.
Adobe Flash Player is an advanced client runtime for delivering powerful and consistent user experiences across browsers, operating systems and mobile devices. The next major release of Flash Player, codename "Astro," was first previewed at Adobe MAX 2007. The preview highlighted a few of the new capabilities the Flash Player team is working on for Astro: advanced text layout, simple 3D effects, and custom filters, blend modes and effects.
The Adobe Image Foundation (AIF) Toolkit preview release includes a high-performance graphics programming language that Adobe is developing for image processing, codenamed Hydra, and an application to create, compile and preview Hydra filters and effects. The toolkit contains a specification for the Hydra language, several sample filters, and sample images provided by AIF team members. The AIF technology delivers a common image and video processing infrastructure which provides automatic runtime optimization on heterogeneous hardware. It currently ships in After Effects CS3 and will be used in other Adobe products in the future.

Adobe announced that it plans to resell ILOG Elixir, a new advanced data visualization component set for Flex 3 including org charts, gantt display, geo maps for dashboards, treemap charts for analyzing large data sets, 3D charts, and 2D chart extensions with radar charts.
In conjunction with the Flex Builder 3 beta on Adobe Labs, new Flex Skin Design Extensions for CS3 are now available for download. These extensions support Flash Professional CS3, Fireworks CS3, Illustrator CS3, and Photoshop CS3.

During this week's Adobe MAX 2007 conference Adobe announced the winners of the Adobe AIR Developer Derby. The grand prize winner took home a $100,000 travel certificate.
