The second prerelease of Adobe Flex Builder Linux, an Eclipse plugin version of the Flex Builder software that you can use to build Flex applications on Linux, is now available for download on Adobe Labs. This new version of the software includes more of the great features in Flex Builder 3 and improvements on features found in the initial alpha release.
To coincide with the release of Adobe AIR beta 3, the Adobe Flash Professional team has released a refresh of the Adobe AIR Update for Flash CS3 Professional. This software allows you to package and preview .air files directly within Flash CS3 Professional and includes added compatibility for Adobe AIR beta 3.
The first public release of BlazeDS is now available as a beta from Adobe Labs.
BlazeDS is the server-based Java remoting and web messaging technology that enables developers to easily connect to back-end distributed data and push data in real-time to Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR applications for more responsive rich Internet application (RIA) experiences.
Previously available only as part of Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES, Adobe is announcing its plans to contribute the proven BlazeDS technologies to the community under the LGPL v3. BlazeDS gives the rapidly growing Adobe developer community free access to the powerful remoting and messaging technologies developed by Adobe.
The source code will be available for download in early 2008.

Beta 3 includes the following new features:
- Applications built on Adobe AIR Beta 3 can register to run at start-up/log-in.
- Web Launcher provides the ability to detect and launch an installed AIR application from a web browser.
- Support for H.264 video and Advanced Audio Coding (AAC).
- Full Screen Hardware acceleration.
- Flash within HTML Support allows Flash content to be integrated within HTML based applications.
- Adobe AIR also supports automatic runtime updates, similar to how Adobe Flash Player can be updated.
- Thawte (http://www.thawte.com/) offers an Adobe AIR developer certificate, so developers can certify applications built on Adobe AIR are from a trusted source.
- Support for the Mac OSX Leopard operating system.
The next generation of Adobe Acrobat Connect—codenamed "Brio"—is now available to try via the Adobe Labs website. Brio is a web meeting service built with collaboration in mind for individual professionals and small businesses. With Brio, you can instantly communicate and collaborate through an easy-to-use, easy-to-access online personal meeting room.
H.264 video support has been introduced to the Solaris version of Adobe Flash Player 9. Preview the new H.264 video and HE-AAC audio support and other enhancements in this beta for Solaris, now available on Adobe Labs.
The final, shipping versions of the Adobe Flash Player 9 update with support for H.264 video is now available from Adobe.com. The latest release of Flash Player 9 supports Macintosh, Windows, and Linux platforms. See the online system requirements for more information.
