The Social service enables you to write applications that integrate leading social networks such as Facebook and MySpace into your apps. The service, implemented through an easy to use API, provides an abstraction layer that connects with different networks. This removes the complexity and repetitive work of having to implement multiple APIs in order to integrate social features from multiple social networks into your application. The service also insulates developers against underlying social network changes, as the underlying APIs at the supported social networks change, the service adapts to those changes so you don’t have to rush updated versions of your app to market.

The Adobe Flex® 4 SDK beta 2 release on Adobe Labs (previously code named Gumbo) marks an expanded role for the Flex framework, now supporting both developers creating Flex applications and designers using Adobe® Flash® Catalyst™ to create interaction design.
This beta 2 release aligns with the public beta 2 releases of both Flash Builder and Flash Catalyst.
For an overview of the new features and changes for beta 2, please read Matt Chotin’s What’s new in the Flex 4 SDK beta article.
Adobe® Flash® Catalyst™ is a new professional interaction design tool for rapidly creating expressive interfaces and interactive content without writing code. Create interactive portfolios, product guides, microsites, site navigation, interfaces for RIAs and more.
New Beta 2 release adds support for video, sound effects, motion easing, AIR and more. Read about all of the new features.
The second Adobe® Flash® Builder™ 4 (formerly Flex Builder) public beta release is now available on Adobe Labs. If you are new to the Flash Builder beta, the first thing that you’ve already noticed is that we are renaming Flex Builder to Flash Builder. This name change will create a clear distinction between the free open-source Flex framework and the commercial IDE. For more information on the name change, please read the FAQ.
There are three main themes to this release: developer productivity, designer-developer workflow, and data-centric application development. Flash Builder 4 delivers a long list of new features, plus improvements to many existing features. Beta 2 builds on the first public beta released in June, completing several of the new features, while extending others, making it faster and easier to create Flex applications.
