Adobe Labs Ideas for Flash Catalyst Launched

Adobe Labs Ideas is a place for the community to suggest and discuss new and exciting functionality for Adobe technologies. Post your own ideas or review and vote on ideas submitted by the community. The Adobe development teams will review all submissions and use your collective input to prioritize feature requests and help shape future versions of products.

This initial launch of Adobe Labs Ideas allows Adobe Flash Catalyst users to vote on feature requests and share new ideas with the development team and user community. If you have an idea for how the Flash Catalyst beta can be better, let us know!

Adobe AIR for Linux Now Shipping

Adobe AIR for Linux is now shipping and available for download on Adobe.com. Supporting information and downloads are no longer hosted on Adobe Labs.

Now that Flash Lite 3.0 is available on millions of devices around the world we have decided to remove this release from Adobe Labs. We invite you to join the Flash Lite Distributable Player private beta, an exciting new product that enables you to update Flash Lite on demand.

Adobe PDF iFilter 9, with 64-bit support, is now available for download on Adobe.com. As a result, the PDF iFilter 8 - 64-bit technology is no longer hosted on Adobe Labs.

Centaur and Bolt Details Posted on Labs

Information regarding two upcoming releases codenamed Centaur, the next version of ColdFusion, and Bolt, Adobe’s new Eclipse based development tool for ColdFusion developers, is now available on Adobe Labs. Learn more about these technologies and apply for the Prerelease Programs.

Stratus Details Posted on Labs

Stratus is a hosted rendezvous service that aids establishing communications between Flash Player endpoints. Unlike Flash Media Server, Stratus does not support media relay, shared objects, scripting, etc. So by using Stratus, you can only develop applications where Flash Player endpoints are directly communicating with each other. Check out an online sample application and stay tuned for the availability of a preview of this service on Labs.

Adobe Wave Details Posted on Labs

Details regarding Adobe Wave, an Adobe AIR application and Adobe hosted service that work together to enable desktop notifications, are available to review on Adobe Labs. In addition visitors have the opportunity to signup for the Prerelease Program.

Information regarding two new tools for creating applications for the Flash Platform is now posted on Adobe Labs. Flash Catalyst, formerly codenamed Thermo, is a new professional interaction design tool for rapidly creating application interfaces and interactive content without coding that works together with Gumbo, the codename for the next version of Flex Builder. Genesis Details Posted on Labs

Adobe Announces InContext Editing Preview

Coinciding with this week's Adobe Creative Suite 4 announcements, Adobe has announced a new online service, Adobe InContext Editing. This new service will allow web content authors to create, manage, share and control editable pages in minutes without compromising design integrity. The free public preview of this service will begin when Adobe Creative Suite ships in October. This feed will keep you updated.
