Flash Builder Plug-in for SAP NetWeaver Released to Labs

The Adobe® Flash® Builder® Plug-in for SAP® NetWeaver® Gateway Services project introduces features that enable Adobe Flex® developers to more easily build web and mobile applications that access SAP data published through REST-based SAP NetWeaver Gateway Services (NGS). The plug-in works within the existing Flash Builder Data Centric Development (DCD) workflow, adding simple wizards that allow you to connect with and browse a Gateway Server’s Service Catalog and then generate ActionScript® service wrappers and value objects for selected services.

ActionScript Code Coverage Plug-in for Flash Builder Launched to Labs

Adobe® ActionScript® Code Coverage Plug-in for Adobe Flash® Builder™ helps ActionScript and Adobe Flex® developers understand exactly what code is executed while an application is running. The ActionScript Code Coverage Plug-in for Flash Builder can be used with applications developed in ActionScript 3, optionally using either Flex SDK 3.x or Flex SDK 4.x, targeting both Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR®. Packager for iPhone Now Available for Download on Labs

Adobe® Flash® Professional CS5 software ships with Adobe AIR® Packager for iPhone and offers the technical capability to have ActionScript 3 projects run as native applications for the iPhone 3.0 OS.

As a result of Apple’s updated legal terms (section 3.3.1 of the Apple iPhone SDK License Agreement), Apple is no longer permitting these applications to be delivered to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users through the Apple App Store. This a legal restriction imposed by Apple and is not a technical limitation of Adobe AIR or Adobe Flash Professional CS5.

Adobe AIR Prerelease Launched

Adobe® AIR® will let you publish ActionScript 3 projects to run as native applications (.apk) for the Android OS. These AIR applications can be delivered to Android devices through Android application stores such as the Android Market.

Developers can write new code or reuse existing web content to build AIR applications for the Android OS. Because the source code and assets are reusable across the Flash Platform runtimes, Adobe AIR and Flash Player, it also gives developers a way to more easily target other mobile and desktop environments.
