The Text Layout Framework team is now releasing new builds on a regular basis. Visitors to the download page will now find new builds made available (almost) every Friday. So far, two non-milestone builds have been posted with more to come in the weeks that follow.
The sixth prerelease of Adobe Pixel Bender (version 1.5) is now available for download on Adobe Labs. Pixel Bender is an image and video processing infrastructure with runtime optimization on heterogeneous hardware.
Adobe Pixel Bender prerelease 6 (version 1.5) expands on previous releases with the ability to create, compile, and preview Pixel Bender graphs in the Pixel Bender IDE. Prerelease 6 continues to support Pixel Bender filter processing in Adobe After Effects™ CS4, Flash Player 10 and Photoshop CS4.
Prerelease 2 of the PatchPanel technology is now available on Adobe Labs.
PatchPanel is a Flex library and set of services that make it possible for Shockwave® Flash® (SWF) files to work as Adobe Creative Suite CS3 and CS4 plug-ins. Flex developers can include this Flex library in their projects in order to create Flash plug-ins that access the ExtendScript Document Object Model (DOM) of Creative Suite applications through ActionScript objects.
The Text Layout Framework for Adobe Flash Player 10, an extensible library that delivers sophisticated and innovative typography, is now available for download on Adobe Labs. The framework is designed to be used with Adobe Flash CS4 Professional or Adobe Flex, and is already included in the next version of Flex, codenamed Gumbo. Developers can use or extend existing components, or use the framework to create their own text components.
Adobe PatchPanel is now available on Adobe Labs. PatchPanel is a Flex library and set of services that make it possible for SWF files to work as Adobe Creative Suite CS3 and CS4 plug-ins.
Adobe has released Configurator, a utility that enables the easy creation of panels (palettes) for use in Adobe Photoshop CS4, on Labs. Specifically, Configurator makes it easy to drag and drop tools, menu items, scripts, actions, and other objects into a panel design, then export the results for use inside Photoshop. These panels leverage the support for Adobe Flash built into Photoshop, making it possible to drag and drop audio, video, images, and even other SWF files into a panel design.

Coinciding with this week’s Adobe Creative Suite 4 announcements, Adobe has announced a new online service, Adobe InContext Editing. This new service will allow web content authors to create, manage, share and control editable pages in minutes without compromising design integrity. The free public preview of this service will begin when Adobe Creative Suite ships in October. This feed will keep you updated.
