Tutorial Builder is an experimental technology that automatically generates step-by-step Adobe® Photoshop® tutorials from a sequence of actions recorded from the application. The resulting tutorials not only include text description and tool icons for the recorded actions, they also include all the code required to replay each step using the TouchSDK.

Information regarding two new tools for creating applications for the Flash Platform is now posted on Adobe Labs. Flash Catalyst, formerly codenamed Thermo, is a new professional interaction design tool for rapidly creating application interfaces and interactive content without coding that works together with Gumbo, the codename for the next version of Flex Builder. We are collecting requirements for improving the usability, look and feel, and functionality of the Adobe Labs website and would like to know what are the 1 or 2 site enhancements that you would like to see added. Please focus feedback on the features, layout, and organization of the site itself, not the Adobe technologies (Flex, Lightroom, etc.) that are showcased on the site.

Adobe’s upcoming new design tool, codenamed “Thermo“—enables designers and developers to create working application prototypes, design application transitions/motion, and transform static UI mockups into declarative MXML source.
Neil Straghalis on the Macromedia web team just blogged a great summary of how the Labs and Macromedia.com site CSS is ‘modularized’, to leverage the existing MM.com design, but selectively override it with a single Labs-specific stylesheet to achieve the ‘de-evolved’ final look of the Labs static website. Definitely worth a read if you’re juggling both design and interface for large site installations.
