User Group Events

There are two user group events this evening, Wednesday, January 14th.

The Professional Photographers of Santa Clara Valley, CA are hosting Photoshop Product Manager Bryan O'Neil Hughes, talking about Lightroom 2 and Photoshop CS4, starting at 7pm.

The Twin Cities Lightroom User Group will meet tonight at Easel Training in Saint Paul, MN, at 7pm. Topics include catalogs, backing-up & moving your data, and Lightroom/Photoshop interop. Engineers from the Lightroom & Photoshop teams will be on hand to help answer questions.

We hope to see you tonight or at future user group events.

Would be nice if those events would be also announced on services like http://upcoming.yahoo.com.
I like the way flickr manages announces of flickr meetup , they have a group and when people want to announce a flickr meetup the event is added to the group. I think adobe could use the same approach by creating a Lightroom group, and then monitoring that lightroom related events would join the group.

This would widen the audience of people aware of such events.

As a plus using Upcoming's api would could then display a calendar of upcoming events on this blog as a plus.

[Good idea. Adobe has begun building out a user group infrastructure at http://groups.adobe.com/ to help users start and organize their groups. Tapping into other existing social networking infrastructure to spread the word is also a good thing. One of my goals is to help nurture Lightroom and Photoshop user groups, so I welcome your feedback. - JT]
