Installing and Configuring LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 for JBoss, MySQL, Windows

The LiveCycle ES3 connector for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 contains two parts:-

  1. Document Services Component (DSC) which is installed on LiveCycle Server.
  2. Web Part that is installed on the SharePoint Server.

Installing Adobe LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint DSC (Fresh Installation)

Install the LiveCycle ES3 server on your machine and follow the below steps to configure the SharePoint Connector:-

1.)    Move to the LiveCycle server installation directory and start the LiveCycle Configuration Manager (LCM). LCM is available at <LIVECYCLE_INSTALL_DIR>/configurationManager/bin/ConfigurationManager.exe or .bat.

2.)    If you are adding SharePoint to an existing LiveCycle ES3 Installation, please go to section Adding SharePoint Connector to an existing LiveCycle ES3 installation. If this is a fresh installation then, choose express mode of installation and on the Modules screen select the components that you want to install along with LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint.

3.)    Click Next and configure SSL if you want, otherwise select the check box for skipping SSL configuration and click Next.

4.)    Click Start on the Express Mode screen.

5.)    Once the express mode is complete, the connector is now installed. Now, you need to configure the connector DSC (to connect it to your SharePoint server). You can do this via LCM, LCM CLI or LiveCycle Administration Console.

Adding SharePoint Connector to an existing LiveCycle ES3 installation

1.)    Run LCM and select custom mode of installation and click next.

2.)    On the Modules screen, LCM will show the already installed components preselected. Select checkbox for LiveCycle ES3 connector for Microsoft SharePoint also, and click next.

3.)    On the Task selection screen, choose the following options:-

  • Select Configure the LiveCycle ES3 EAR Files
  • Select Deploy LiveCycle ES3 EAR Files
  • Do not select Initialize LiveCycle Database
  • Select Deploy LiveCycle ES3 Components
  • Select Validate LiveCycle ES3 Component Deployment
  • Select Configure LiveCycle ES3 Components (If you want to configure SharePoint connector from LCM)

4.)    Complete the Configure LiveCycle ES3 EAR files step and click next.

5.)    On the screen Deploy LiveCycle ES3 EAR files choose to deploy adobe-livecycle-jboss.ear only. No need to deploy any other EARs again.

6.)    Complete the next steps for Deploying and Validating LiveCycle Components and click next.

7.)    The LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint DSC is now installed. Now, you need to configure the connector DSC (to connect it to your SharePoint server). You can do this via LCM, LCM CLI or LiveCycle Administration Console.

Configuring LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint DSC

a.) Using LCM

1.)    To configure the SharePoint using LCM click next on the Express Mode Screen (after express mode is complete) or click next on the screen Validate LiveCycle Components deployment if you have followed the custom mode. Either way, you will get a screen similar to the one below based on what components you have installed. Select the check box for Configure Connector for Microsoft SharePoint and click next.

2.)    Enter the appropriate values according to your SharePoint Server installation and click the button Configure SharePoint Connector.

3.)    If the configuration was successful you will get the below screen.

4.)    You can now exit from the LCM or configure other components that you have installed.

b.) Using LCM CLI (Support comes with LiveCycle ES3 SP2)

1.)    Open the file cli_propertyFile_ecm_sharepoint_template.txt in a text editor and enter appropriate values.

2.)    Open a command prompt and change to directory <LIVECYCLE_INSTALL_DIR>/configurationManager/bin

3.)    Run the below command(in a single line):

ConfigurationManagerCLI.bat sharepoint-configurationCLI -f cli_propertyFile_ecm_sharepoint_template.txt

4.)    You should get the output like

c.) Using LiveCycle Administration Console

1.)    Open LiveCycle Administration Console in a browser http://<LiveCycle_Server_hostname>:<port>/adminui and login with administrative credentials.

2.)    Go to Services à LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint. Enter appropriate values and click Save.

3.)    Select the check box for Kerberos if you are configuring with a Kerberos enabled SharePoint 2010 Web Application. With ES3 SP1, You can configure SharePoint connector with a Kerberos enabled SharePoint 2010 Web Application (For JBoss only).  See the Adobe LiveCycle documentation link http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/10.0/InstallJBoss/WS32c5fad466bf732e106c620136f2db8b4e-8000.html.

Installing Adobe LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Web Part

Follow the below steps to install the LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Web Part on the SharePoint Server 2010:

1.)    Copy the archive <LIVECYCLE_INSTALL_DIR>/plugins/sharepoint\Adobe LiveCycle Connector-2010.zip to any directory on SharePoint server 2010.

2.)    On the machine where SharePoint Server is installed, extract the archive to a directory of your choice (say at C:\AdobeLiveCycleConnector).

3.)    Add the path to the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN to the PATH environment variable.

4.)    Open a command prompt and change to directory C:\AdobeLiveCycleConnector.

5.)    Execute the commands:-

Install.bat -create – This will create the solution file SharepointConnector.wsp in the folder C:\AdobeLiveCycleConnector.

Install.bat -add – This will add the solution to SharePoint server 2010.

Install.bat -deploy – This will deploy the solution to SharePoint Server 2010.

Install.bat -install – This will install the workflow feature.

6.)    After the installation of the Web Part Site Collection Administrator can go to the Site Collection Features and activate the features Adobe LiveCycle Connector and Adobe LiveCycle Workflow feature. You may get an access denied error while activating these features, read the post http://blogs.adobe.com/livecycle/2012/05/access-denied-sharepoint.html for resolution. Configuring Adobe LiveCycle ES3 Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Web Part

You need to provide the details of the LiveCycle server with which you want to connect to. Follow the below steps:-

1.)    Open the SharePoint Web Application in a browser.

2.)    Go to Site Settings. You should be able to see a section for Adobe LiveCycle here.

3.)    Click on LiveCycle Settings, enter the appropriate values and click Apply.

    I still have a question:
    When I open a task from SharePoint LiveCycle User Task list, login screen appeared. how to avoid this login? My user has synchronized to LiveCycle Admin Console.

      This requires a Single Sign on from SharePoint to LiveCycle which is not supported yet.
