Using Assembler to Create PDF Portfolios (PDF Packages)

You can use the Assembler service to combine multiple documents into a PDF Portfolio that specifies how a viewer application’s user interface presents collections of file attachments. When your process or application invokes Assembler, it provides a Document Description XML (DDX) that describes the PDF Portfolio you want to produce. This article describes different types of PDF Portfolios and the DDX expressions you can use to produce them.

Creating a Simple Calculation with FormCalc

You can use the FormCalc scripting language to quickly add basic calculations to a form. Adding basic calculations to a form enhances the form-filling experience by eliminating the need for users to manually calculate values by hand, and helps to reduce data entry errors.

This video clip shows you how to add an arithmetic funtion to an object to perform a basic calculation. Thanks again to Lauren McGuire-Wood, our summer intern, for creating it!

Adding dot leaders to a form

You can now add dot leaders to text on a form using LiveCycle Designer ES Update 1 (8.2). Dot leaders are useful when you want to create a table of contents in a form or want to uniformly align text in columns.
