Font Packs to use with Acrobat or Reader 8

If you’re having trouble finding the Asian Font Packs and/or the European Extended Font Pack for Acrobat/Reader 8 on Adobe.com – not to worry. They’re on our FTP site now as MSI files, and will be posted on Adobe.com later this summer as full installers (similar to Acrobat 7).
The Eastern European Font Pack includes Thai, Hebrew, and Arabic.
The Asian fonts – Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Japanese, and Korean are each in their own MSI file.

Please note: with these MSI files – you must copy the MSI installer to an empty directory and then run the installer from that directory. We’ve seen problems if there are other files in the directory. This is only an issue with the MSI files – this will not be a problem when we get the files posted on Adobe.com as full installers.

    The so-called “Eastern European Font Pack” contains 3 fonts: AdobeArabic, AdobeHebrew, AdobeThai (and nothing else).

    None of this languages is used in Eastern Europe.
    The file is called FontPack80_Xtd_Lang.msi (Xtd: extend?/extension?)

    So why call this “Eastern European” something?

    So… you’re right. I was looking at the fonts for Central Europe… Anyways, the official name of the font pack that contains Arabic, Hebrew, and Thai is call Extended Language Font Pack.

    Just in… The full installers are now posted on Adobe.com – http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrasianfontpack.html

    You need to select your version of Reader (6, 7, or 8) and which font pack you want (CJK or Extended) and which platform (Win/Mac) and the download will start.

    traditional arabic doesnt seem to be supported. its the most common arabic font. sigh.

    Hi,

    For Arabic text, there is the Acrobat Middle Eastern version available from winSoft: http://www.winsoft.eu/products_solutions/adobe-acrobat-professional8.php
    It will perfectly handle Arabic fonts.

    i downloaded eastern font pack for hebrew for acrobat 8. i have acrobat 8 pro and the installer said i need reader 8 and it wouldn’t install otherwise.

    I have a problem and it is when I open file with adobe reader and it says it can’t be read (needs TraditionalArabic)

    hi,when i copy Arabic contents of pdf document to a word document,it pastes with strange characters,what to do to copy it in arabic as original?
    [[it really depends on how the text was encoded in the PDF document. Can you determine what product made the PDF file? were the fonts embedded? ]]
