Adobe Hue CC – Get that Look!

There’s something about good old fashioned movies that I absolutely love. The storyline, the actors, and the look. Oh yes, the look. The movies of the 50’s and 60’s have a nice vintage look to them, a warm orange-brown tint that sets the mood for the entire film. Cut to the present day. The recent Hollywood blockbusters have a distinctly different look. I find them noticeably brighter and more vibrant. A look undoubtedly sets the mood for a video.

Wouldn’t it be fun if you could turn your casual video footage to look like the movie you love? The vintage look, the warm look, or just about any look that catches your fancy? Your wish has been granted!

The 2015 release of Creative Cloud introduces Adobe Hue CC – a new mobile capture app that lets you capture color and light from things that you see around you and save them as Looks to your Creative Cloud Library — all in just a few taps.

How it works

Use your iPhone or iPad to capture color and light from the world around you. Or, you can use photos that you already captured from your camera roll or stored on your Adobe Creative Cloud account.

Then let Adobe Hue work its magic. Adobe Hue lets you view color and light in three-dimensional space so you can see the structure of your Look. You can refine the Look by shifting mid-tones and adjusting intensity quickly and easily with intuitive tools.

I also love the fact that you can get a live preview of the Look by applying it to a sample image or video as you fine-tune the details. When you are happy with the Look you created, save it to your Creative Cloud Library.

Use with other Creative Cloud apps

The Looks you save to your Creative Cloud Libraries can be accessed across apps or shared with others. The  magic of Adobe CreativeSync lets you apply Looks created in Adobe Hue to Premiere Clip videos on your iPhone or iPad, or use them to enhance your video projects in Premiere Pro or After Effects.
