The CF\JRun team has completed the development and the Beta program and has released the free upgrade for JRun4. Like all updaters Updater 7 contains all prior updaters.
ColdFusion 8 is fully supported with JRun4 Updater 7.
Many new enhancements, platforms have been added – all the details are in the the release notes.
One really good reason to move to U7 is if you are using clustering with in-memory session replication, major performance improvements have been made in how the cluster memers communicate with each other.

When you call into Technical Support keep in mind that almost all the Engineers, Consultants in Canada, have the ability to use Adobe Connect. This allows you to share your screen and show us your issue first hand. I use my meeting room all the time and it always surprises customers how easy to it is to use. It requires no install beyond a small plugin for sharing your screen.
Since Connect used the Flash Player in your browser we seldom have any connectivity issues.
Just something to keep in mind if you ever need Support.
When installing ColdFusion you are presented with the question to use the Built-in web server or to have the installer setup your first connector with a web server of your choice. On a new server most will choose to have the installer setup the connector. However, If you are installing ColdFusion 8 and this server already has ColdFusion 7 running you might want to choose the Built-in to make sure you don’t interfere with any running servers and overwrite your prior versions CFIDE directory.
You can always install connectors later using the Java Swing base connector wizard called the Web Server Configuration Tool in your Program Start menu in Windows. We also offer a command line version for setting up connectors on Solaris and Linux.
My preference is to alway install with the Built-in JRun web server. Run the ColdFusion Administrator, perform any migration steps for the new server, then run the connector setup.
