Twitter AS3 API

Twitter has an ActionScript 3 API. Cool stuff.

Update : Looks like they have uploaded an old, pre-release version of the API, so this does not currently compile. I’m trying to get some more info on what is going on.

  1. It looks as though they switched at the last minute from the Base64 class included in the source bundle to my Base64 class which they’ve not included in the package. It was the old Base64 class that made use of StringBuilder. If you download the Base64 class from here – http://www.dynamicflash.com/goodies/base64 – the project compiles fine.

  3. Except, I can’t seem to use it for anything but the public timeline. Everything else requires Basic Authentication, which seems to be fubar for me.Sample code:var r:URLRequest = new URLRequest (URL);var login64 : String = Base64.encode (e + “:” + p);var authHeader:URLRequestHeader = new URLRequestHeader (“Authorization”, “Basic ” + login64);r.requestHeaders.push(authHeader);…l = new URLLoader ();l.load(r);If I point it to another PHP script, which handles the Basic Authentication via cURL, it works like a charm.
