What videos do you want to see at video.onflex.org

Well, Ted Patrick and I launched video.onflex.org a little over 3 weeks ago, and we are already nearing our twentieth video on the site. If you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure to glance through some of the videos.

Anyways, we are nearing the end of our backlog of videos, and it looks like I have some time this Thursday and Friday to create some more videos, so:

What Flex and / or Apollo videos you want to see on video.onflex.org? What do you want us to show? Who do you want us to interview?

Let us know by posting your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Hi Mike.Maybe it would be a nice idea of showing us some Flex-CS3 intergration(making-designing components, use some Flash based swfs with Flex, etc).Of course if you have videos from other conferences it would be a great idea to share them with us too..Anyway thanks for the video.onflex it’s a nice site..

Another API tutorial would be good maybe on YouTube . A tutorial on saving data other than text would be nice as well say capturing video or audio. I loved the JSON tutorial before maybe use the Twitter API with JSON. Im loving the videos it is giving everyone a great head start. Thanks Mike.

Hi, It would be cool to see interviews with some people in Adobe who have been part of the team which created Flex/Apollo.

Hi Mike,Well, we all saw the current power of Apollo/Flex, but it would be very interesting to see what exactly is cooking in Labs, what will Apollo bring in future and what will Flex 3 have that Flex 2 havent got.I think users are more focused on Flex/Apollo then HTML/Apollo, and the main reason is that Flex is much more powerfull then any other sollution. That taken, WPF & WPF/e is (for now) more feature rich then Apollo/Flex, so i would like to know is there any plans to support LOW level OS features in future?I know there are some upcomming Apollo/flex -> Java frameworks that will allow communication with low level OS, and hardware (as seen on video.onflex.org), but Apollo could support the same functionality without third party sollutions.

I would really like to see a video describing how to create your own flex components, both for use in a single project and also how to package them up for distribution. And with that, how you go about passing data into and back out of those components so it can communicate with the rest of the application.

  6. MikeThanks for the ones that are already up there. Can you post videos on Cairngorm. Ideally one that’s a Cairngorm overview, and one that goes through constructing a Cairngorm application.

Hi Mike. I wonder if either you or Ted are done with the socket connection to a database backend, i.e. MySQL or something?A video on how to do this either via http or the local desktop OBDC would be awesome.Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the all the vids.I also second a Cairngorm framework overview, i’m just starting a big project, which i think could really use it, but I just don’t know where to get started. Also i’m looking for more information to extend tree components via the tree item renderer and the charting components, anything on item renderers would be awesome. Thanks!
