CAD Data Interoperability (Flash Video)

The third video in the series focuses on how Acrobat 3D Version 8 enables 3D model-based data sent to suppliers and others as PDF to be extracted as precise geometry for downstream processes such as tool and mold design, CNC machining operations, or performing CAE analysis.

This third video highlights how CAD, CAM, and CAE application users can receive virtually any CAD file that has been converted to PDF and quickly export precise geometry to a neutral B-rep format such as STEP or IGES without having to buy expensive, dedicated CAD translators. The flash video runs about 7 minutes and can be found here.
