Speedtest.net is a service that allows you to check the speed of your Internet connection. Rather than use Java to do this, as I've seen so many others do, this one uses Flash and has a much nicer interface than any others I've seen. Thanks to Alistair Lee, a fellow Adobe employee who really should be blogging, for the link.
I tried it out, great interface, though I can't get the results bit to work.
On another subject, about your last post, I seem to have gotten my httpservice to request a site, whose url I provided locally. I think the main thing that I did differently is added the attribute resultFormat="text"
for my DataGrid I just had the dataProvider by my HTTPServices' last result, and I set the dataField to something random, it didn't seem to affect it.
To test it out, you can go to my set and copy the text "!bhello world;>" (without quotes) into the textbox, press run code, and you should see the words hello world in bold tags appear in the grid.
I'll post more about this on my site later, since I've got a feeling it's gonna help alot of php developers.
Thanks Mike. It's certainly the slickest one I've seen. They do a great job of blurring the line between what's Flash and what's DHTML, it all works together so smoothly.
Drupal is awesome, I use it on my site, not only is it easy to use, simple, and with pretty good features, but it also lets you embed php directly into the content, how cool is that?

Also SpeedTest.Net is made in Flash and is pretty cute, More accurate speed tests can be completed on MondoSpeed Worldwide Speed Test (http://www.mondospeed.com/).
You can choose from a list of more than 40 high speed servers spread all around the world.
This server keeps in history all tests results ever.
just awesome! wish they had an api for external usage.

Mike, you need a "Digg This" link on your blog!
[Yeah, I know I do... Actually, what we really need to do is move to Drupal. - Mike]
