Adobe Story is a script writing tool. It has a unique combination of features which is not present in any competing application. As you use Story you will become familiar with these features. So without further ado, let me get to how one can get started. Really, it’s a piece of cake.

Clicking on the get started link will take you back to the Story Login page.

You are now ready to log in. If you have been working on the same browser all this time then login should happen automatically. Otherwise you might have to enter your Login credentials. On first Login, you will be presented with Adobe Story terms of use. Acceptance of terms of use is necessary for you to use Story.

If you accept Terms of Use by checking the check box and clicking accept you will be taken to the Project View. First login may take some time, and you will see a waiting cursor, as your account is being set up for use.

This is how your Project View will look like:

Project View

Project view is the area where you can see all your scripts and projects. The hierarchy goes like this:

Category -> Project -> Group -> Document

Categories can contain many Projects. Projects contain groups for different kinds of documents. Groups contain the respective type of document.

Categories are listed on the left hand column. You will see a category named All Projects by default. It will have a sample project inside it. Contents of a project are listed on the right hand side view. The most important group is the one named Scripts.

At this stage you may want to look around the sample content. Just double click on the script named Paladin Script. After a few loading messages it should open the Authoring view.

This is the view where you write your stuff.

Authoring View

You can always go back to the projects view by clicking on the PROJECTS link besides the home icon on the top of your Story screen.Similarly you can come back to the authoring view by clicking on the AUTHORING link. The number in front of AUTHORING represents the number of documents open in the Authoring view.

To create a new script simply go to the File menu and choose new or press the New button(it has a green plus icon) from the project view.

That’s it for now. I hope you like Adobe Story. We are always looking for more feedback to make it the best Script writing application. Cheers!
