So, "What is Blueprint", you may be asking yourself:
Blueprint is a plugin for Adobe Flex Builder 3 and Adobe Flash Builder 4 that allows users to query for Adobe Flex and Adobe Flash code examples found on the Web directly inside of the development environment. The purpose of this preview is to assess the level of community interest in this type of customized search interface for code examples.
Very cool indeed! For more information, check out the Flex Doc Team blog's entry over at http://blogs.adobe.com/flexdoc/2009/06/the_blueprint_eclipse_plugin_i.html, or download Blueprint directly from Adobe Labs at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/blueprint/.

For those few people out there that were not fans of the Fx prefix in Flex Gumbo (SDK-17854 -- Kittens saved, Fx prefix will go away), you can now head on over to the Flex Gumbo page on opensource.adobe.com and check out the Architecture Review Board (ARB) Issues page on Dropping the Fx Prefix!
And for those of you who were fans of the Fx prefix... you can go read the ARB issues page too, because the Fx prefix is still being removed.

The support for scale-9 resizing is confused between Flex SDK, FXG, and the CS tools, and needs to be resolved.
Flex current supports scale-9 only on embedded bitmaps, as it did in Flex 3. When a bitmap is embedded with scale-9 parameters, those parameters will be respected, regardless of whether the embedded asset is used as a display object inside a UIComponent, the source for an Image, or the source for a BitmapGraphic.

For those of you counting, that brings us up to a total of 30 specs posted.
I was flipping through some of my Flex blogs in Google Reader this morning when the following headline caught my eye: Beedigital -- Scan and test Adobe Flash and Flex applications for vulnerabilities. The blog post linked to an article at eWeek -- IBM Targets Adobe Flash Vulnerabilities with New Tool, which is definitely worth a quick read. Or, for more information, check out IBM's site for Rational AppScan Standard Edition (Windows only -- it seems).

A coworker of mine on the Flash Authoring team, Tareq AlJaber, has an excellent blog at flashauthoring.blogspot.com where he explains how you can take advantage of some of the classes in the Flex.swc and use them in your Flash applications.
For more information, see the following posts:
As a long time Flex, Flash, and ColdFusion user I was very intruiged after reading Tareq's blog, and within minutes was using the Flex ObjectUtil class in Flash CS4 to trace out large objects and arrays, using the [Embed] metadata to embed PNGs and assets from library SWFs into Flash CS4 components, using the Flex HTTPService classes to load remote XML and text and display it in the Flash TextArea control, and creating custom label functions in Flash which used the Flex CurrencyFormatter class. The best part is that it was all very easy! Just point to the correct Flex SWCs, import the correct mx.* packages, and then start coding.

In addition to a couple examples of using Yahoo! Maps and Google Maps in Flex projects, I also did a couple posts on using the beta Flex Gumbo SDK in Flex Builder 3.

Not to be outdone, the Flash Player team blogged the following in the past twenty-four hours:

Here's another question I've seen come up a few times. "Q: Where can I find the source to the Flex Charting controls and/or the AdvancedDataGrid control?"
A: The charting controls and AdvancedDataGrid controls are only available within the Flex 3 Professional edition. In order to view the source code for these classes, you need to input your Flex 3 serial number, and then you should be able to find the source code in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3\sdks\3.0.0\fbpro\projects\datavisualization\src\
Happy Flexing!
I've seen a few people ask this question lately, "Q: Where can I find the latest version of the Flex Component Kit for Flash CS3?".
A: The Flex Component Kit (FCK) can now be found at http://www.adobe.com/go/flex3_cs3_swfkit.
In earlier Flex 3 betas, the FCK was included with the Flex SDK (see, "Installing the Flex Component Kit for Flash CS3" for more details on installing the component kit). In later SDK builds, we decided to remove the FCK from the SDK and post it separately online. Documentation for the FCK can be found at http://www.adobe.com/go/flex3_flexflashcomponents (PDF).
If you are an Fireworks CS3, Flash CS3, Illustrator CS3, and/or Photoshop CS3 user (or work with somebody who is), you'll also be pleased to know that you can find the Flex Skin Design Extensions at the same URL, http://www.adobe.com/go/flex3_cs3_swfkit. For more information on importing skins into Flex Builder, see http://www.adobe.com/go/flex3_skinning_doc (PDF_. Also, feel free to head over to blog.flexexamples.com and then check out my "Installing the Flex Skin Design Extensions for CS3 from Adobe Labs" entry (which is a bit out of date. but hopefully still somewhat relevant).
I just noticed we have a few Flex/Flex Builder/Adobe AIR related tech notes posted on the support site:
Here are a few more blog entries from other people on the Flex SDK and Flex Builder teams:
Gordon Smith: What's up with the open-source Flex SDK project?

Whew! It has been a busy day around the Internets...
In addition to the flury of Flex/AIR related posts, 360Flex also happens to be going on in Atlanta. If you weren't able to attend, Josh Tynjala from Yahoo! has an excellent summary up on his blog, Live From 360Flex, Day One. Josh also mentions Flash Player 10's upcoming support for the Vector data type. For more information on the Vector class, see Josh post, Discover ECMAScript 4: The Future of ActionScript, and, head over to Francis Cheng's blog and read his Vectors in ECMAScript 4 entry. I had the honor of working with Francis on the Flash Player documentation team and I can definitely say he's one of the smartest people I've ever known. Currently he's helping out with the next edition of the ECMAScript language specification and writing Flash Player documentation, so if you like a technical blog where you can actually learn things (unlike my blog), go check it out!
It looks like we still might be rolling out the pages, but the front of Adobe.com lists oodles of Flex and Adobe AIR content!
For more information on Adobe Flex 3 and Adobe AIR, see: http://www.adobe.com/go/flex/ and http://www.adobe.com/go/air/.
Also, go check out the Developer Center for lots of articles, Flex Developer Center and Adobe AIR Developer Center.
You can also find Adobe Flex Builder 3 (Standard and Professional) at the Adobe Store now, Adobe Flex Builder 3 Standard and Adobe Flex Builder 3 Professional.

I don't see any real trends, other than the fact I did a brief series on setTimeout() method, setInterval() method, and the Timer class.
