No more headaches over updating and patching Adobe Acrobat or Reader.
With the release of Acrobat and Reader X, managing updates and patches is easy. Adobe will soon supply a System Center Updates Publisher (SCUP) catalog so that administrators may more easily deploy and manage Acrobat and Reader X clients across the enterprise.
System Center Updates Publisher (SCUP) is a stand-alone tool that is used in conjunction with Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to allow administrators to more accurately and efficiently install, update, and patch software. Together, SCCM and SCUP are Microsoft’s latest change and configuration management solution. SCCM provides features such as metering, asset intelligence, inventorying, and improved remote client administration. For example, SCCM users can easily determine what products versions are installed including all dot and double dot patches without writing a complicated query.
The SCUP catalog for Acrobat X and Reader X will be made available along with the first update which we expect in February of 2011.
Note: For users who participated in the Acrobat X prerelease program and were able to access the beta SCUP catalog for Acrobat 9, we will no longer be supplying SCUP catalogs for version 9 products. The version 9 SCUP catalog was a proof-of-concept exercise that allowed us to develop the SCUP catalog for Acrobat X.
The SCUP catalog for Acrobat X requires SCUP 4.5. All other requirements are defined by the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007.
Read SCCM-SCUP Deployments in the Enterprise Administration for the Acrobat Family of Products document for more details.

Hi, It’d be great if the current SCUP catalog published for Adobe Reader 9.x.
Adding updates into SCUP is a bit of a pain at the moment.
This has been promised as long as I can remember, but Adobe still hasn’t fully developed this solution. Once reader, flash, etc. are added to a catalog and posted on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/systemcenter/cm/bb892875.aspx it will be ready for enterprise deployment. I don’t see that happening until Adobe starts to take security and enterprise updating seriously.
Still:
Adobe has never promised to support SCUP prior to Acrobat X so I apologize if you were mislead somehow in the past. That said, we are fully committed to supporting SCCM/SCUP for both Reader and Acrobat X moving forward. As I stated in this article, The SCUP catalog for Acrobat X and Reader X will be made available along with the first update which we expect in February of 2011. Also, we’ve already been in contact with Microsoft and plan on listing the catalog, once available, on the Microsoft Third Party Custom Catalogs for Configuration Manager and Essentials page that you reference in your comment.
Unfortunately, as the Acrobat Evangelist, I can’t comment on the Flash Player.
Why Acrobat x standard does not have acrobat catalog like previos versions? I used the acrobat catalog, where i could get it.

Catalog is a feature of Acrobat Pro. You can find it under “Document Processing”.
