Why is there zero info in this ‘blog’ notice?

    • By Lex van den Berghe - 11:25 PM on December 10, 2012   Reply

Register and tune in to our Create Now event tomorrow morning at 10am PST and you can get all the details. RSVP link is available in the post above.

I understand that – but then why did your facebook post say “Read about it on our Photoshop.com blog: http://adobe.ly/RYg30n” if there isn’t anything to read about. Just saying….

Great observation. Maybe to get some trafic on photoshop blog too. :)

Recently saw Adobe PS Elements in Best Buy for $99. I thought this kind of product was like $800 or so. I have the old Photoshop 7.0, which was very expensive, but I cannot get it onto my new computer. Does elements have the same basic attributes as the one I’ve used for years? Very curious if I could accomplish the same things I do now?

    • By Claudia McCue - 3:29 AM on December 11, 2012   Reply

      Eric Bloom,
Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop Elements are separate products. PS Elements is for consumer photographers who need to do basic retouching and color correction without the rich feature set (and accompanying complexity) of Photoshop or Photoshop Extended. That’s why it’s $99; the retail price of standalone Photoshop Extended is $999. Photoshop (the non-extended version) is $699. More info here: http://adobe.ly/N6Rt6j

Eric, you should post in the user-to-user forum for your Ps 7 install issue: http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/general?view=discussions

There is also a Ps Elements forum, where you could explain what you do with Ps7, to hear if it can do it too…
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop_elements
Ps El seems to be based on the same code as Photoshop, and can do many of the same tasks.

Yeah, it’s a bit silly this article has no information whatsoever.

Here’s a copy paste from the description within AAM:

This Adobe® Photoshop® and Photoshop Extended 13.1 update installs new features for Adobe Creative Cloud members and Photoshop subscribers. It offers exciting new capabilities for design, photography and more, including the freedom to nondestructively edit with Blur Gallery and Liquify using new Smart Object support, the ability to export text and shapes as CSS, the option to create Conditional Actions, and support for new HiDPI displays that enable a dramatic improvement in image fidelity and resolution. Other new workflow timesavers are also included. Customers with Photoshop Extended will also receive new 3D options including improved live previews that simplify the creation of shadows and reflections in 3D artwork and a 32-bit color picker for better illumination control, and more.

I’m going to have to say I was expecting more info on the blog as well – not another webinar someone wants me to attend to find out more.

Thanks Peter for posting more info. I was only coming up with the HiDPI display update info with a quick google search.

Can I change it back to the old resolution? I’m working on a lot of banners in small sizes, and now I can hardly see them :(

Major errors installing update for Illustrator 16.0.3. Fails to install even after many varying attempts. After the attempts, Illustrator fails to launch. Unsure what the issues are, but there does not seem to be any answers to the many posted questions on Adobes Forum….Hopefully Adobe will address this sooner than later

Trying to do the CS6 trial on a MacBook Pro with Retina display … and I can’t get Updates to give me anything newer than 13.0.2. Pretty sure I need 13.1. What do I need to do to fix this? I specifically WANT to test out the native-Retina version.

    • By Lex van den Berghe - 9:18 AM on December 14, 2012   Reply

Hi Jason…if you are a ‘perpetual’ CS6 customer (non-subscription), then v 13.0.2 is the latest/greatest version and it includes Retina display support. You are all set. v 13.1 is the current version number for our Creative Cloud subscriber customers. Hope this helps!

Hello would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using? I’m looking to start my
own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
