Pinch and Zoom through Marcolina Design’s Free World Without Photoshop iPad App

In response to the challenge from the Photoshop team to imagine a world without Photoshop, leading creative agency Marcolina Design produced their first-ever iPad app that showcases a collection of work from a dozen world-renowned digital artists that also includes a forward by the pioneer in multi-layered imagery, Jerry Uelsmann. We wanted to share this launch with you, all of our Fans. If you have an iPad, we invite you to download the app, enjoy the creative work and let us know what you think: http://bit.ly/i0O5XM. If you don’t have an iPad, we hope you’ll check out this quick, 48-second video that gives you a taste of the World Without Photoshop app experience and let us know what you think too: http://bit.ly/d2pV7w.

Founded 20 years ago (in the same month that Adobe introduced Photoshop), Marcolina Design has long pushed what technology can accomplish in their work. Beginning in digital print design and then moving into interactive design, web design and video, it seemed only natural for them to portray the role of Photoshop in all our work by mastering a new technology, the tablet.

The result is a beautifully designed, interactive app that uses the unique experience of touch on an iPad to show how an artist takes an image from the original shot to the final version — a literal transformation from a world without Photoshop to a world with it.

The app features more than 48 images from 12 of the leading digital artists in the world, including Maggie Taylor, John Paul Caponigro, Bert Monroy, Adhemas Batista, Olli-Pekka Jauhiainen, Olivia Parker, and Adobe’s own Julianne Kost and Russell Brown. You can easily pinch and zoom through their work, view videos that capture their insights, see a history of Photoshop features and more.

It is a time for giving thanks here in the USA and while Photoshop fans join us from all over the world we know that all of us share a common amazement and gratitude for the inspiring images that people can imagine then create. From the entire Photoshop team we send a loud Thank You for all the support you’ve given us over our 20-year history and we hope you enjoy this neat app experience.

We’d also love to hear what you think of the app in the comments below, so please share your reactions!

Best,

Nice

A world without Photoshop is a cold, sad place. Especially for graphic artists. :(

I can’t live in a world without photoshop :(

photoshop is important for editing…

well, it would obviously be flat and carried by 4 elephants standing on a giant turtle, just as it was before PS.

Photoshop is diet for me… i can’t live without it :(

I downloaded this app when it was first available. A well designed app that I refer back to at least once a week.

When can I use it on my android tablet?T_T
