What’s Your New Year’s Resolution?

Happy New Year!!

It’s 2012 and to be honest, we’re still reeling from eating too much, flying to faraway places and just decompressing with family and friends. Here’s some photos taken from some of the team’s holiday experiences…

The new year is an interesting time, as we reflect on 12 months that have literally flown by and decide what we might want to do differently. We’re gearing up for a busy year and the inevitable question has come up throughout the halls – “what’s your New Year’s resolution?” We all know resolutions are meant to be broken, just like Jeff Harris, a photographer from Toronto, who knew he needed a resolution he could actually keep. Jeff challenged himself to document his life via one self portrait every day – beginning in 1999 through today – and now it’s 12 years, 4,748 photos and counting!

Whether you stick to it or not, it’s all about the intention to do something positive. Here’s what some from the team are going to “try for” in 2012…

“Smile more often in appreciation of the generosity and genius of the human spirit.”

– Winston Hendrickson, vice president – Creative Media Solutions

“I resolve to get out on the open road more often with my camera in tow and only a vague idea of where I’ll end up…more blog fodder and inspiration!”

– Julieanne Kost, senior evangelist – Digital Imaging

“Listen to more vinyl and spend more time with my family.”

– Jeff Tranberry, chief customer advocate

“Take more photos!”

– Maria Yap, senior director  – Digital Imaging

“Shave 7 minutes off of my Big Sur Marathon finish.”

– Bryan O’Neil Hughes, senior product manager – Photoshop

“I want to print more and drink less!”

– Zalman Stern, lead senior software engineer – Camera Raw

“I’m resolving to get outside more…hopefully with my camera in interesting and picturesque places.”

– Bob Gager, group product manager – Photoshop Elements

“Prepare myself for my daughter’s departure to college. She’s my first…”

– Jeff Chien, principal scientist – Photoshop

“As the youngest of four I’m all too familiar with the curse of decreasing photographic evidence of additional children in a family. I’ve already used metadata filters in Lightroom to determine that I’m grossly under-recording my second child relative to my first. My New Year’s resolution is to improve the photographic equality in my family.”

– Tom Hogarty, principal product manager – Lightroom

“Exercise more!”

– Pete Falco, lead computer scientist – Photoshop

“To create something with my stills and videos that I take with my phone or camera.”

– Zorana Gee, senior product manager – Photoshop

“I want to bake more desserts from scratch!”

– Sumner Paine, senior product manager – Carousel

“We make New Year’s wishes, not resolutions. So mine is – appearing as a villain on a BBC Sci-Fi series!”

– Nikolai Svakhin, computer scientist – Photoshop

“Take at least one photo a day…and drink less caffeine (resolution made as I sip on Diet Coke).”

– Sharad Mangalick, product manager – Lightroom

“Keeping my twins incubated as long as I can!”

– Wennie Leung, senior software development manager – Photoshop

“Take more pictures of my family…and get my email inbox down to 0!”

– Stephen Nielsen, product manager – Photoshop

“Experience race day euphoria at Aloha Stadium and capture a photo from atop the Eiffel.”

– Cari Gushiken, group manager – Customer Engagement

“I’m still working on last year’s!”

– Chris Cox, senior computer scientist – Photoshop

“Take more photos of the whole family together, not just my husband and kids with me behind the camera.”

– Pam Clark, group product manager – Photoshop
