Revel 1.5 – Available Today

Today we are happy to announce that Revel 1.5 is available for download from the iTunes and Mac App Stores!

We’ve added many great improvements to Revel with this latest update, but the one we are most excited about is the addition of Albums! You can now organize all the photos in your library by creating albums for family vacations, photos of the kids, or even random photos you take everyday.  And just like everything else in Revel, albums are synced automatically everywhere you have the Revel app.  Create an album in Revel on your Mac, and it’ll be waiting for you in Revel on your iPad.

You can also share your photo albums privately on AdobeRevel.com. This is a great way to share photos with friends and family quickly and easily, because all they need is a web browser. Best of all, any changes you make to a shared album in the Revel app – including adding new photos, making photo edits, and adding captions – are updated automatically on the web.

Visit a sample gallery here.

Other new features in Revel include:

  • Albums to organize photos
  • Create an album on one device and it is automatically updated and accessible everywhere you have Revel
  • Share albums on AdobeRevel.com as web galleries
  • Captions – Add context to memories with text descriptions
  • Library grid view – Browse photos in track or grid view
  • Sign in with Facebook or Google ID – new Revel users can skip the hassle of remembering a new password by simply signing in with an existing ID

Useless and rubbish overcharged

Nice work!

Cool!

I love the new features :-)

The big question is:
Will we see a new Lightroom PlugIn soon?
(Smart ALBUMS? :-)

Cheers
Uwe

Am I missing something? Where is the login button on adoberevel.com where I can log in to view my photos? Or is it just individual albums that can be viewed on adoberevel.com?

Correct, only albums you share publicly. If you’re viewing the album the option is down in the lower left corner. Within the sharing panel is an option to email out the link to view the album on adoberevel.com

Love the new update. Lack of captions was really holding me back. Only problem now is that Flickr export from Revel doesn’t put the caption in the title but leaves it blank. Yes, it does put it in Fluckr’s caption field but this should definitely be an option that users’ can pick. Now I have to copy and paste them all, not something I should be doing manually for the cost of the product.

Thanks though, definite improvements!

P.S. Would kill for Lightroom synchronization.

Thanks for sharing such information which is very useful to each and every developer. I really like to follow your blog. Please share more and more informative content.

I think now you really motivated me to go for a new 30 day trial; keep on the good work. Now I’m just waiting for some increased platform coverage (Windows!), rounding it off with full web features would be the icing of the cake :-)

Revel Development Team,

You have won me back. For good.

This 1.5 update has pushed me over the edge. I am a committed subscriber now. The organization element of Revel has been sorely missing until now, and the new sharing and web gallery features are awesome. The push synchronization and unlimited storage have always been the clear strength of Revel, but these new features have sold me!

There is definitely still room to grow.

Here are a couple quick things I would love to see in future updates:

1. Better integration with Lightroom, especially in the area of organizing. Having photo albums is great, but having collection sets with nested collections is better. What would be really awesome would be the ability to sync my existing hierarchy and photos to Revel as they are in Lightroom.

2. Being able to have web-based photo albums that you can share with others is awesome! However, it would be better if there was a way to have them all organized into a web gallery. Right now, each and every album has a different URL. I would love to be able to send my family to my gallery homepage where they can see all of my online albums in one place.

3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to edit and create duplicates of my photos in Revel. What I wish I had was an easy way to sync those new photos / changes back into Lightroom. It is easy to publish from Lightroom to Revel, but not so easy going back.

All in all, what you guys have built has brought me into the fold for good. I am excited as to what you have in store for future updates.

I’m drowned to this again… I need a took like this , which is not there out on the market. I loke the integration with Lightroom although this is not a photographer’s pro tool a feature like that is good! But getting back to the main topics…… Sharing with a password with friends and family is what I need… people don’t share with each other properly, they send mails, the post on Facebook , they do this , that and those and there’s no real solution…
What you’ve got here , it’s a Winning Idea… not there yet in terms of product but it’s so wonderfull that we all want to keep trying… !
Yes it’s overcharged for what it does at the moment but It if will work like it was meat the price is cheap :D
I want to be able to share private with non Revel users. Of course I want windows on it (altough I’m 99% Mac User at home) !
We need hashtags and captions on the files… we also love slideshows on albuns we share via Web … !
Love the iPhone/iPad integration.
Love that Adobe is doing what Google/Apple/Flickr and others haven’t… You must be fast :D
If you need a proper I.T Consultancy please feel free to ask me .. I’ll analyse this in detail… not convinced yet.. but will tested again for 30 days

i used adobe revel. A wonderful app any amateur can use for excellent results!

this is my first comment.

Just started to look at Revel and like what I see.
The ONE upgrade that should be released is the ability to synchronise collection sets from Lightroom, making it possible to organize and manage the Revel Albums from Lightroom.

Don’te work! I subscribe I be charged monthly , but continuum to ask for subscribe every time I try to load or transfer photos! I have problems with charges with Adobo! Charge 66.09 dollars 3 times and have a email tell me I’m going to be charge again on October 8!!! But DON’T WORK!!! Please tack matter about this problem or me to enjoy my photos on Adobo Revel!

I am sure I am missing something. I am a Photoshop Elements user and used Photoshop.com to view my pics remotely and as an offsite back-up. My Elements software is on a PC not an Apple product. As we all know Photoshop.com automatically syncs with Photoshop Elements. Then I upgraded to Photoshop Elements 11. Nothing in the sales literature for 11 mentioned that it did not work with Photoshop.com. I thought that was bush league but felt I could get over that and move to “the cloud”. From the Photoshop Elements 11 Organize I “shared” a few photos to Revel and then looked at them on my IPhone. The pictures did not seem to carry with them any organization from my Organizer (i.e. Albums). Do I have to organize them again into Albums in Revel? Is there ANY work done in my Organizer that carries over to Revel?

I have been using Revel since it came out. It works ok for me and I like the features. My questions is, I am an artist and I post my artwork online on many sites. I am concerned about copyright issues and do not want my work stolen and used without my permission. How do I make a watermark on my photos? I only have a Mac and don’t use Photoshop. Do you have a way to watermark or otherwise put an X across certain photos? Thanks.

nice article guy….good work for you and your aticle very usefull for me
