Premiere Pro CC Update (7.2.1)

Today we have released an update to the December 2013 Premiere Pro CC release, with several important bug fixes. This update is recommended for all users. You can install the update through the Creative Cloud desktop application, or you can check for new updates from within any Adobe application by choosing Help > Updates. Ideally, you should install the updates automatically through the Creative Cloud desktop application or by choosing Help > Updates, but you can also directly download the update packages from the download page for Windows or Mac OS. Note that if updates aren’t visible in the Creative Cloud app, quitting and relaunching may help.

issues fixed with this release:

  • Intermittent Buzzing could occur on audio playback where audio transitions were present
  • Reveal in project sometimes did not work in imported sequence when clips were present in the project
  • Premiere Pro could occasionally crash on playback of certain multi cam assets
  • Using matte cleanup tools in Ultra keyer could sometimes cause the top half of the image to disappear when paused in Open CL mode
  • Autosave could sometimes interrupt playback.
  • The AMD Radeon R9 290 Series has been added to the OpenCL supported card list
  • Inserting a merged clip with in/out points via menu or command would insert the entire merged clip, not the in/out range
  • Playing with preroll could sometime crash Premiere Pro
  • When editing in Anywhere mode, adding synthetics would sometimes show a 10 digit number under the progress panel’s Name column

TAGGED AS:

My GFX card was supported for Open CL in 7.1 but not in 7.2.0
ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB
Why was it dropped and will it be back in a future version?

Thanks,
Scott.

Please have mercy on us and put the auto-save in the BACKGROUND!

Wish to buy Premiere Pro CC and Encore together. Please let me know how to go about it. I am in India.

Dude encore is no longer in development, you’ll have to purchase CS6

t can be done. Just follow the steps on this Adobe Tutorial. They technically have discontinued it but they allow you to download Encore CS6 with the purchase of Premiere CC.

Wait what? They discontinued Encore?? So what, people don’t author DVDs or Blurays anymore? This seems like a HUGE mistake if they want to be the one-stop-shop for content creation and delivery. I already had to install Encore CS6 to author a DVD just last month for a wedding as I was waiting for Adobe to release Encore CC……….this is so not good :(

No we didn’t discontinue it, we just didn’t make a new version for CC. The CS6 version comes with your Creative Cloud membership.

Nice fixes, thanks. Aany idea when the reels in xml, or the lack of reels in xmls, will be fixed. It’s a pretty serious bug.
Thanks.

Paul

This should have been fixed in 7.2, are you still seeing problems?

Does this update fix the projects and xml import bug introduced with 7.2?

    Yes!

Thanks for fixing the buzzing when the audio transition is used. This has helped my seminar filming video edits to work as intended.

The new update 7.2.1 has removed the tab Video Codec from Export settings which has removed the options to export in 1080p ProRes 422 (HQ) which I require. Please can anyone tell me how to fix this problem.

It’s there for me. Make sure you have QuickTime selected as Format at the top.

This update introduced a new bug (I just finished filing it to you guys). When viewing your sequence in the Program or Source panel, none of the buttons work (on MacOS). You have to use the keyboard shortcut to extract frames.

I have 7.2.0 installed on Windows 8.1 and it does not have this issue.

I’m still having the problem of stuttering audio when viewing a sequence with nested audio and/or multicam clips. Am I the only one? Is there another fix on the way?

BIG PROBLEM – with multicam-nesting

I just updated and my previous projects now being opened with update are devastated due to nesting/multicam assets. Subclips are no longer recognized in nested sequences. Instead of a steady from from clip1 subclip1 to clip1 subclip2 it will revert back to clip1 sub clip1. I’m sure if you start a new project it isn’t an issue but older projects are destroyed.

Anyone else had this issue?

When will Premiere Pro CC support the graphics card for the new Mac Pro?

Red frames on Prores files… Is this fixed???

Good morning. My boss and I both installed these updates yesterday after work and now we are both experiencing crashes in Premiere. Program window will go blank, lock up, then the whole program crashes. Im on Win8 and he is on Win7

We’ve also both checked our video drivers. He uses Nvidia and I use Radeon HD. Both had updates, but the problem still persists. As soon as we try and play anything back the whole program locks up.

I was hoping this version of the update would alleviate the bad playback problems I’d encountered with 7.2.0, but it didn’t. My video playback became unwatchable just like before; stuttering wildly, even playing an occasional red frame from out of nowhere. I’ve never had a problem like this in any previous update. It was so bad I had to roll back to 7.1, where everything now plays smoothly again. Any ideas on what may have caused this? I have an iMac 2011 edition, 12 gb RAM with the AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB card (yes, I know it’s not officially supported, but it had played video just fine until 7.2). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Why is exporting video too slow with this last updates?

When are you going to add the Nvidia GTX Titan to your list of supported cards?

Added in 7.2, we just haven’t updated the list yet :)

Has support for the AMD Radeon 6970M been reinstated, and if not, will it be ? Had to revert to 7.1.

The clip spanning for c300 files are gone in this release. Meaning that all our projects with c300 footage longer then ≈5min won’t work. everything up too 5min work but the part of the clip after 5min gets the zebra stripes and won’t display… The media browser sees the clip as ONE long clip (00:08:44:12)but when imported through the media browser the clip is only 00:05:15:21. This has worked in every release before but now all our current projects are at a standstill. This need to be fixed ASAP!

Does this update address the problem many of us are having when sending a project from Premiere to Speedgrade and then back again? I have a project that when use the direct link to Speedgrade… perform even just ONE grade to one shot… and then save from Speedgrade and reopen the project in Premiere I get the error code [..\..\Src\Audio\AudioWaveform.cpp-173]. Then the project crashes and becomes corrupted to the point of not being useable. I end up having to go back to a previously saved version to be able to do anything.
ANY information on this particular situation would be GREATLY appreciated.
