Getting Started with Adobe Presenter: Editing Videos

During my last post I wrote about how you can import videos into an Adobe Presenter project. But what if, after inserting a video and Previewing, you discover that there is unwanted content at the beginning or end of the video? You’ll be happy to learn that Presenter offers a wonderfully simplistic way to edit inserted videos (without having to leave Presenter and start a third-party video editing tool).

On the Adobe Presenter tab, Insert group, click the Video drop-down menu and choose Edit.

Getting Started with Adobe Presenter: Adding Videos

Slide Video

Adobe Presenter supports several types of video formats including Windows media files (afs, wmv, mpg), Quick Time files (mp4, dv, dvi, mov, and 3g) and Flash Video (flv). If your computer setup includes a video camera, you can also record your own video. When adding videos to a presentation, you can elect to import the video directly to a slide, or have the video appear on the Sidebar. You’ll learn both techniques during this post.

To add video to a slide, visit the Adobe Presenter tab, Insert group, and click the Video tool.1_Insert Video

Adobe adds Collaboration and Learner Tracking to Award Winning Video Tool

Adobe’s award winning Presenter Video Creator has been enhanced with new tools designed to put interaction right into educational videos. Trainers and Educators alike are rapidly adopting Adobe Presenter thanks to it’s amazingly simple, show-and-tell video tool. Innovations in the video tool have been delighting users for more than a year now. Given the immediate popularity of the new learner intervention, tracking and collaboration tools were added to interactive projects, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Adobe has released an update that now provides users a tool that will let them embed learner tracking and collaboration right inside the videos.

Getting Started with Adobe Presenter: Scenes, Characters and Scenarios

Often times the hardest part about creating an eLearning course is getting started. Many people struggle with the look and feel of the individual lessons, quality images, and workable scenarios. You’ll be happy to learn that Adobe Presenter provides some wonderful tools that will help get your eLearning course jump-started. I’m talking specifically about Presenter’s Scenes, Characters and Scenarios.

Scenes

Scenes are helpful when you’re trying to quickly create an eLearning course, but you don’t have the time to draw the background elements to support the slides. To use Presenter’s Scenes, you can begin with something as simple as a brand new PowerPoint presentation. On the Adobe Presenter tab, Insert group, you simply click the Scene tool.

How to publish Adobe Presenter Projects to your Moodle LMS (this will work for many other LMS’ too.)
1. Create a PowerPoint Project
2. Integrate any kind of Quiz

Creating and adding Custom Scenario Interactions in Adobe Presenter 9

Adobe Presenter Senario InteractionsScenarios and near-real stories add life to eLearning courses and make the content look and sound more meaningful. It also makes it easy for the students to understand concepts by looking at the examples and taking decisions in the scenario. They get a perfect simulated environment to practice the skills or modify behavior and the best part with scenario-based learning is that they are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them, without causing any harm whatsoever.

In spite of these benefits, you will find very few people creating scenario-based courses. Most of them rather settle for information-heavy eLearning courses. They confess that they understand the value of creating a scenario-based course, but they opt for a page-turner as it takes a lot of effort and time to design and build scenarios. So to lessen the burden for eLearning developers, we’ve introduced scenario templates in Adobe Presenter 9 which can be used to build decision points inside an eLearning course.
