Adobe adds Collaboration and Learner Tracking to Award Winning Video Tool

Adobe’s award winning Presenter Video Creator has been enhanced with new tools designed to put interaction right into educational videos. Trainers and Educators alike are rapidly adopting Adobe Presenter thanks to it’s amazingly simple, show-and-tell video tool. Innovations in the video tool have been delighting users for more than a year now. Given the immediate popularity of the new learner intervention, tracking and collaboration tools were added to interactive projects, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Adobe has released an update that now provides users a tool that will let them embed learner tracking and collaboration right inside the videos.

I think the simplest way to explain this new workflow is to do so in pictures.

Why Your Organization Should Support a Knowledge Sharing Culture

Segretaria stressataThere is a fundamental problem that exists in the typical business workplace today. Chances are that you or someone in your office is already painfully aware of it. We’ve seen an explosion in the number of people whose jobs are directly related to their expertise, and for whom ‘what they know’ has become a kind of ‘insurance’ plan.

Have you ever heard a colleague proclaim “If I’m the only one who knows how to do this, ‘they’ can never fire me.” We’ve all heard similar comments and perhaps even nodded along, or said the words ourselves. But what is the actual cost of this kind of environment of knowledge hoarding. Research in fact suggests that it cuts much Continue reading…

Facilitating Flipped Classrooms for Primary, Secondary and College Classrooms

There is nothing like a trip to remind us that life’s journey’s are our only real destinations.  Whether you ascribe such wisdom to Chinese Proverbs or “One Tree Hill”, the wisdom in recognizing that the process is more important than the product is universal and ageless.

I have spent the last couple of weeks traveling. I have driven through Continue reading…

Enjoy the Adobe Presenter Appiness!

The Appiness is here and it’s here to stay! And we are proud to present the Adobe Presenter Mobile App to access your Adobe Presenter 8 courses on tablet devices. Exciting, isn’t it? :)

What’s even more exiting is that you do not have to create two separate courses for Desktop and device consumption. Just publish your course as a SWF and the same course works beautifully on both your iPad and Desktop. You can also track your AICC compliant and Connect courses when accessing them on the iPad. Can’t believe? Even I couldn’t believe it, when I first heard it from the engineers, so I gave it a spin and here are the steps I followed to create and view the course on iPad.

I created a short course on Hospital Hygiene with Continue reading…

Is Brick & Mortar Education Going to be Left in the Dust by Online Learning & Flipped Classrooms?

Andrew Maynard, Director of the Risk Science Center at the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health raised this provocative issue in his recent article for the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies “Online Learning is where Online Music was five years ago.

Maynard reports in the wake of a heavily attended special session on education from VidCon’s Third Annual Conference, held the last week of June in the Anaheim Convention Center. According to Maynard, a distinguished panel of experts largely from commercial and independent video production identified with wide consensus that Online Video-Based Education is on the cusp of something really big.
